Default Anyone else have an aversion to handheld gaming?

I find playing handhelds to be very uncomfortable. Every time I play a handheld, I get this claustrophobic feeling looking at the tiny screen, for some reason my neck and shoulders hurt and I wind up squirming around, changing my posture every 30 seconds. Then I get crampy and achy enough to turn it off. Couple that with my aversion to game pads as opposed to joysticks and you have... something that doesn't do me any good. So, I hate it when some cool game I want to play comes out on a handlheld system.

So am I the only exhibit in this freak show?

Not a total aversion but I do have a hard time with it. I can only play a handheld for about 20 minutes before my neck starts to ache really badly. The alternative is to hold it up at eye level, which my arms can't keep up for long. Plus, I find the DS and PSP to both be unergonomic and they cramp my hands after a while. Particularly if I'm playing a game that uses the L and R buttons so I have to keep my fingers on them.

I've always hated the unlit screens of the old Game Boys, but lit screens can also have problems with light reflecting on the screen. I can only play my DS in my car if I park in the shade.

I have always had one, I think mainly as I have never really had a need for mobile gaming Id rather play things in the comfort of my living room with a big TV, Ive always found that far more enjoyable.

I like a lot of the handhelds because they have great games. Sitting down isn't bad except for long periods of playtime. Lying down on the bed either your stomach or your back sucks while playing games. Lying down on the bed on some bundled up blankets and your pillow is good though. I really need one of those beds that lift up and are like a comfortable chair.

The only problem I have with handhelds are the screen's themselves. I much rather play them on a bigger screen..I have much better "control" than on a smaller screen. Can't really explain why, though.

I find them both awkward to play and socially awkward. I don't like that the screen moves at all while I use the controls, this is mostly distracting in action games. I also rarely am able to focus on what I am playing in public because I somebody will always distract me or I'll feel like I should be talking to somebody. The same thing happens when I try to read a book in public.

I play handhelds mostly. I find it easy to game in small spurts and that works better with the DS or other handhelds
