Since it is a demo, there might not be any sound at all. If you have Amiga Explorer, I suggest to download a adf full version of R Type 2 and see if you get sound.
after i download the .adf, how do i format a Flopy disc to an Amiga disc so it will read on my amiga 500? using a flopy drive on a pc?
You will need a null modem cable and the Amiga Explorer software. Another thing is to use a Catweasal adapter. Depending on your floppy model, it can be modded to use adf files.
I'm using an old IBM Windows Me, that has a floppy dic drive, i do have a serial cable to connect to my Amiga, my Mac pro dosn't have a flopy drive
were can i get the Amiga explorer disc, i searched ebay but couldn't find one
I had that demo when I was a kid, and there was definitely no sound.
I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that, or if it had something to do with the game being PAL and my Amiga being NTSC.
It was one of the few games for Amiga that actually used two buttons. It deserves some bonus points for that at least. I never actually played the full game, but the original R-Type for Amiga is decent.
