    Wow, it actually is worth something? Man, I thought it was just another cheap VHS tape, I picked a copy up for $1 a year or two ago.

    The movie bored me to tears though.

    The PS1 games were marked $5.50 each, but the clerk let me have them for $15 total, which was very nice of him. Crash 2 has the 3D cover insert. Found at an Out of the Closet thrift; they're all in great shape.

    Spyro: A Hero's Tale is unopened and cost $5 at a Goodwill.

    Trolls on Treasure Island NES cart $2.50. With one of those yellow Nintendo logo cases. Probably not one I'll keep, much better stuff I could get by selling it.

    Today I received the other 2 games I had ordered for the Nintendo DS...

    Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is only the 2nd DS game in my collection to garner an M rating. Can you guess what the other is?

    Major League Baseball 2K11 is basically identical to the 2K10 edition with just a roster update...but it's not a complete one. I play as the Pirates and while I now have players like Pedro Alvarez, Neil Walker and Chris Snyder on my team, I still have now former Pirates like Andy LaRoche, Lastings Milledge and Zach Duke on my roster. And some guys the Pirates have picked up (like Lyle Overbay, Mike Diaz and Kevin Correia) are not on my roster.

    Well... today was kinda weird, everything was cheaper than usual for some reason. And there weren't a ton of people at the flea market today. I guess I got lucky? I don't remember the exact prices but I got everything for much cheaper than I usually do.

    * Laserlight: Focus on Hollywood
    * Super Street Fighter II (DOS CD) - this was bundled with a copy of the Street Fighter movie, and a gamepad. None were around.
    * Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Radio Sunnydale - Music From the TV Series (first version)
    * The Mask: The Origin
    * Ace Ventura (PC CD) - I've been hoping to find another one of these since I passed up a complete copy four years ago!
    * The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall

    * Billy Watson and the International Silver String Submarine Band - Live at the Rhythm Cafe (new)
    * Billy Watson and the International Silver String Submarine Band - Madcap Extravaganza (new)
    * V/A: The Mambo Kings soundtrack
    * Scottie Blinn and the Tiki Torchers - Hoodoo Charin

    * Aftershock for Quake
    * Star Trek Armada
    * Mortal Kombat Annihilation Soundtrack
    * Disney's Heavyweights (promo score)
    * The Brand New Heavies
    * Cameo - Word Up (and yes, it's game related!)
    * The Rhythm & Bluefield Band - Rolling Over The Classics (new)
    * Billy Daniels - Mr. Black Magic
    * Death In Vegas - Dead Elvis

    When I walked back home, the US / Mexico border crossing was DESERTED. This almost never happens - usually the line to cross is at least a mile (one hour) long by foot.

    My finds for the first few days of May:

    Silent Hill: Homecoming(360) $20
    Bionic Commando(360) x2 $4.99 each
    Resident Evil: Degeneration $3

    I picked up the 360 games at Kmart. They had a bunch of clearance price games there but I already had most of them. This was my first time running into a cheap new copy of Silent Hill: Homecoming so I had to pick it up to help complete my collection. As for Bionic Commando, it was cheap so I thought I'd give it a try. And I've been meaning to pick up this Resident Evil animated/CGI movie for quite sometime now so seeing it at a decent price was a pleasant surprise.

    PS3 60 gig $75
    Diddy Kong Racing(N64) $1.50
    Megaman X4(PS1) $1.50
    Yoshi(Nes) $3
    Matt Huges: Made In America $2.50

    I picked up the games and Matt Hughes biography at three different Goodwills. I'm forever picking up either wrestler or MMA stars books since I find all their back stories on the road to fame to be quite entertaining. I didn't know if the Megaman X games are worth anything but it was at a good price(originally $3 but I was given a discount) so I picked it up anyway.

    So now I have two PS3's. Ironically enough, I went to a yard sale that was advertising a 360, 360 and Xbox games and a Kinect. When I got there the person who made the ad didn't even show up. Luckily I saw a gazillion other people with yard sales on my way there, as this was a community yard sale day for the whole town. I walked up and down two main streets and a couple adjacent ones. On the second table that I went to she had a PS3 and an Xbox sitting out along with a bunch of garbage games. I didn't know how big the hard drive was(and neither did she since she was selling this for her husband and he was at lunch or something). I looked all around the console and noticed that on the bottom it said it was manufactured in November 2006. So from there I knew it was either a 60 or 20 gig. I asked her how much she wanted and she said her husband had wanted $75 for it. For some reason it never dawned on me to offer her less. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good deal but I should have atleast tried to shave $5 or $10 off her price.

    When I took it home I looked up the product number online to verify it was in fact a 60 gig. I also tested it to see if it worked. I tried out Tekken Tag and thought that maybe I should keep this and sell my slim since I'll be able to not only catch up on my PS3 games but also my ever growing collection of PS2 games. But then I remembered that a certain number of original PS3's are at risk of getting the YLOD. I'm kind of torn right now.

    I have a question about the PS3. After browsing thru the system menus it looks like they haven't used this system since December of 2008(based on the last game save). The current system update is at number 2.18 and it even has an option on it stating "install OS". If it indeed still has linux on it or can still be installed would that raise the value of the system alittle bit? Or would this not matter since an update would kill it for whoever takes it online next?

    Oh and one final thing: the PS3 is NOT quiet. I remember everyone saying how it was whisper quiet. It may not be as loud as the rocket propelled original 360 but it can get pretty loud once the fan kicks on and this one hasn't even been played much(according to the woman, once they got a Wii the grandkids never touched the PS3 again) or for some time now.

    1 2 P, what happens with the fat PS3s is that the thermal compound is cheap and dries out, making it much less effective. Not sure if 'dries out' is completely accurate, but close enough. So everything gets hotter faster, and the fan can't keep it cool enough to prevent weakening of the CPU solder joints leading to YLOD. This is what I've read multiple places and I believe means that all fattys will fail eventually. So in my case I opted to open it up and put on high quality thermal compound. It has seemed quieter since then, though I haven't used it much.

    IMO if you believe the unit has not YLODed already and you are willing to replace the thermal compound, that is the best option. You'll get all the whiz bang BC, USB ports, and card reader. If you don't want to or aren't able to do so, then you are better with the slim, and they really are smaller, so that is nice. You can also look into a cooler power supply and better fan, and while those are easier changes, they also have less impact on cooling than good thermal compound.

    Today I picked up Chrono Trigger Arranged Version: The Brink Of Time on CD for $2, Ghost In The Shell: Standalone Complex O.S.T. by Yoko Kanno for 99¢, another blue Justifier lightgun for the Genny for $5.95, a loose Gunstar Heroes for $7.95, and a loose Dynamite Duke for $3.95 (I don't think I've ever seen this game before, its cover photo of some angry/constipated looking military guy is cheesetastic).

    Picture taken with my new Android phone. The picture quality sucks almost as much as that shitty phone does. I could have gotten an equal quality photo out of my old Gizmondo handheld that came out in 2005.

    IIRC the only home media with Star Wars deleted scenes is the LD version.

    I'd have to check, but I believe it is only the special edition LDs that have that... the ones that come in a black case.
