I am definitely going to pick this up. It's a great deal and hopefully it will get more people to play on xbl. I was one of the top umk3 players on xbl but it became difficult to find people to play so I sort of just lost interest. I will probably get my ass kicked at mk2 though, lol.
It's official, my snes cart only collection is complete! The collection includes both competition carts, ISS, ISSD, EMBR/SR and Super Noah's Ark 3D.
Please check out my video game cover music.
Of course I'm going to get this, considering that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was delisted before I could get it.
It's definitely an excellent deal and although I would also like to have it on disc I already do. So I'm going to be picking this up in the future and hopefully the servers stay busy for awhile.

I can't really see a disc release happening, going by the price. I'm sure they'd have to charge more than that to make it profitable, at least on consoles. I guess the copy that comes with the stick is probably a download code?
For sure. Seems like a good deal, even if I only play each one for an hour or so once or twice.
I'll wait for a review.
The main reason I want to get the compilation is for the first Mortal Kombat, the following MK II. I hope the games are indeed arcade perfect, and if they are, I will pick it up.
Proud owner of a Neo 25 Neo Geo Candy Cab!
Eh, I'd think about it but I already own all of them twice (SNES / Genny) and haven't played them in years.
I'm sure it'd be great for an hour or two like someone mentioned, then shelved again after the retro kick wears off. But still, $10 for 3 of the franchise's best is definitely a bargain.
WTB Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut Manual Only... PM ME!!
As I said in another Forum, Day 1 purchase for me. I wonder how this version of UMK3 will compare to the version I already have from XBLA. (The Midway one before they went under.) I do hope they offer Volume control on this version. The UMK3 version I have has the Arcade volume set at 50%(Through the Arcade BIOS), so I have to turn my sound system up a good amount before I can hear the game. Hope this issue is fixed!
@The Shawn: I'm still up to a match of MK. Last time I had to go right when you sent me the Invite. Sorry about that.
That was me that posted that.
Can't play ANYONE on the friends list. Soon as it sends us to a private match it crashes. Can only enter rooms once in a blue moon, then your lucky if your able to move around.
Last time I actually was able to play someone my character froze full on and some 10 year old foul mouth kid beat the shit outta me. I'm all done with the servers on this game, kinda why I was happy to hear that they were gonna release the triple pack for download. Hope to God it's playable on-line. (As it should be)

Truly awesome
Was a bit disappointed with mk9, and then saddened to hear that the hd arcade kollection wasn't happening. It's been so long since I've played mk1 on arcade, that's what I'm really looking forward to.
No brainer here, I just hope the online is relatively lag free. It's nice to see them pricing it at $10 and not $15 like so many downloadable games now.
Got it today on PS3.
I don't claim to be a classic MK expert, but from what I can tell all three games are ports/conversions of the respective arcade roms.
The games seem to look fine (there are some filters but I haven't tried them all) MK I and II played as good as I remember them. Haven't had a chance to play Ultimate MK3 much but I admittedly suck at that one so I probably won't spend much time with it.
I did hop online and play some MK I and II and both allowed me to host a room as well as join others (HOORAY FOR NON-RESTRICTIVE NETWORK CODE!) and online play seemed passable and enjoyable, one of my opponents was even successful at getting some fatalaties input on MK I.
I can't really speak to whether or not any of these are arcade perfect or tournament ready (is that even a thing with the classic MK games?) but all three with online play seems like a great deal for $10 especially considering that even on the last generation Midway Classics collections that the PSP version was the ONLY one that featured all three games on the same disc, and I recall that MK II and III had some game-breaking bugs in those versions.
So, yeah. $10 fun times with old-school MK. Go get.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
Why didn't they include MK3? Does UMK3 make it pointless to include (Sort of like why Midway didn't include San Francisco Rush on Midway Arcade Treasures 3 because Rush the Rock was included and had everything the original did, and more)?
Kind of sad I'm not a fan of this genre since I love classic arcade games.
I picked this up today, and I am already enjoying playing it.
