rarest CDROM PC game ever?

I was looking for this one for some time and finally snagged one on eBay. I don't think the seller wanted to send it. I had to open a case but I tried to stay nice as possible. I even offered to send more money if that was the problem as I just wanted the game.

I told him I'd love to buy more things from him as he some great items. Half wondering if I would after all this. In the end he did decline my offer of extra money and finally close to a month (give or take) later I got what I paid for.

According to Wikipedia
The game did very badly, selling 27 copies in the US and only 176 copies worldwide

I wonder how many copies of this game are really out there. This game can not be as rare as Wikipedia says it is, can it? I wonder if excess stock was wholesaled or if all the extra discs were sold in compilation packages.

There was a compilation of 10 or so discs sold and this disc was included so there are more discs out there than you expect. I should pick one up just so I can give this game a whirl.

Maybe it's not rare, but I dunno. It can't be any rarer than that Alice game. Can it?

It sold for 9.50 + 4 shipping so rare or not I doubt it has the demand Alice does. Rare isn't everything. He had it bundled with 7th Guest so it may have gone under the radar.

This is unfortunately not even close to being as rare as Alice. While it purportedly sold horribly, it did make the rounds of software liquidators several years ago. I know I picked one up from either CDAccess or CD-RomShop for $10 mint sealed in the box. I'm guessing they're sold out now, but I see copies pop-up on Ebay from time to time. While it's an interesting title given it's history (it was a last ditch effort by Trilobyte to stay open by generating some quick cash), it's really just the puzzle levels ripped from Trilobyte's games with zero storyline attached at all.

This is not the first time I've heard this. I think Italian shipping/mail is considered amongst the worst in the world in terms of reliability.

I was told on another thread that 27 units was only the first week of sales and it was misreported as total ever sold.

The theory that extras not sold were liquidated makes perfect sense.
