The screenshot was probably touched up after being taken. Still, impressive.
The weird thing is, if you look at this other screenshot with the dog and the guy in it, the dog almost seems to be double the size of the guy. It just looks a bit weird.
Regardless, you gotta love Kojima's cockiness. He said he expects the Fox Engine to be the best game engine in the world. Pretty freaking bold statement right there...
I would like him better if he does expect it to be the best out there because I feel like that would fit Kojima's eccentric personality better. Just striving to be the best and making it known. Either way it's still cocky and I'm glad to see hes not afraid to show a little bit.

I don't know why having a little cockiness is considered a bad thing. If this engine is released with Kojima legitimately feeling like it is the best, I'm sure that it will be very good. One has to want to be the best in order to obtain the best.

I think that's a separate issue. If the quoted text is accurate then he didn't say that "it would be the best".
Again, wanting to be the best isn't what's in dispute. Kupomogli was just stating that Kojima was being misquoted. If this engine is released with Kojima legitimately feeling like it is the best, I'm sure that it will be very good. One has to want to be the best in order to obtain the best.
The quote that I got was from an interview between Kojima and Mark MacDonald (from 8-4 Play). I'd have to rewatch the interview again, but I thought that he said, "it will be the best game engine in the world", or something like that.
Regardless, I was very entertained by Kojima's confidence in regards to his game engine. I'm curious as to what Epic Games and John Carmack and Dice have to say about that. Not that Kojima's engine couldn't end up being better than the other leading engines, but he's certainly got his work cut out for him, if he's going to surpass those other engines.
Kojima has earned the right to be a little cocky. The MGS series has been sheer brilliance for years now.
You guys and your cocks.
