    Default Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer

    Hello,

Curious to know what a Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer is worth? Label on the bottom does indicate it was manufactured in Sunnyvale, California back in 1979.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Were the "heavy" sixers still being manufactured in 1979? I didn't think they were. Are you sure it's not just a "light" six switch model?

Pretty sure it's a Heavy Sixer, the plastic moulding is thick and it does weight quite a bit. I will try and throw up a picture or two.

    Thanks.

You don't have to bother with a picture, I was just curious about how long the original model was produced. For some reason I had it in my head it was only made for the first year or so, it's likely I'm wrong.

I had it in my head that there was a date stamped on the lable, checking now I see there is not (don't know where I pulled the 1979 date out from). The s/n on this one is 88741E, not sure if the console can be dated by s/n alone but who knows.

Any insight into the value of this particular console?

    Thanks.
