Default Any experiences shipping to Israel (or known general consensus)?

I put that graphics card that doesn't fit my system up on ebay. I have someone from Israel interested in it. They haven't made an offer yet, just asked if I'll ship to them.

Any thoughts? If it were a $20 game I'd not hesitate, but for over $100 I'm not so sure. I believe Israel has a good modern postal system, so I'm inclined to think if I use Priority or better I should be fine.

No idea but I don't even ship internationally anymore. The hassle was just too much.

I wouldn't ship anything there... I mean, it's an electronic device. Imagine how it would look on an X-Ray machine - they might think it's a bomb or something worse.

That is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while.

Ship it via EMS, its the only way you will have any protections from ebay scammers.

Yes, because it's not like American customs agents have asked me to open packages whenever I cross over from Mexico to the US because the contents set off their X-Ray alarms. A boxful of Nintendo carts made them suspicious. Nintendo carts. That's a piece of plastic and two to three chips. These video cards have a lot of chips, not to mention the fan wiring. I sold a big sound card a few months ago and they asked what was inside the box, too. Their X-Ray machine made it look scary and then I showed them what it was and they let me go.

And it's not like Israel is immune to bomb attacks.

I remember having to open a suit case full of games & systems from a trip back from florida because they thought my dreamcast was suspicious. The black guys at the airport who found it thought it was funny, saying how they remember the dreamcast and how great it was.

That said, Any Thing that looks electronic is subject to searches.

I did ship something to Isreal once (Visual Studio 97 I think), and the guy agreed to pay the insane shipping price because he wanted it fast (about 70$).

As long as you send it well insured, there shouldn't be any problem.

if it were an open item maybe none of that inspection stuff would matter, but since this is new in the package, I'm wondering if they will open the package to inspect it.

(I know it won't fit in my system because I don't have the two open slots it requires according to the box)
