RE 1.5? Do you mean RE 0? Or was there another game besides the unreleased RE2 that was referred to as 1.5?

Nope I mean RE 1.5
It was announced but never released. A collector did have an early verison but was forced to send it back to Nintendo along with 4k in legal fees which Nintendo requested.

Wow, that's the first I've ever heard of that incident.
Who else knows who I am talking about?
He had a website with crazy crazy rare things pictured. Some blackmarket items as well. He posted to his website in the forums that he owned RE 1.5 and had pictures posted on his website. In the end, thats what Nintendo used against him. His own testimony and the pictures he posted.
Adam
Wow... I've never heard about it, but that sucks! I hope he got even with them by dumping it and circulating the ROM around the internet! . I at least hope he dumped it before sending it back.

Sounds like a load of crap to me - why would Nintendo give a rats ass about an early prototype that was made by a different company? Moreso, what legal right would Nintendo have to reaquire an unreleased CAPCOM prototype that never hit the market, and exactly what would they have been able to recover damages from?
and until further proof is shown, I doubt anyone believes this story.

I could care less if you believe it.
I certainly didn't make this story up cause I had nothing better to do. It happened.
The website escapes me right now but he is a well known guy. As soon as I stumble upon it again I'll post the link. He has forums attached to the site and I bet if you search there in the old posts you'll find the details you need to satisfy your doubting mind. Its possible he may have deleted most posts relating to this since then but I'm sure once I find the site you'll be able to drum up the information you need reguardless.
If anyone else here has the website I'd appeciate the link.
One of the items on his website you Nintendo collectors may remember is the bootleg N64 Killer instinct cart. The label had a shrunken down picture of the box on the cart. The box happened to mention that a CD was inside. So he went on and on about how many mem chips you would need to store a cd on a cartridge.
If this rings a bell save me some hassle and post the website. I'm in danger of being called a bullshitter by an ignorant fanboy.
Adam
Yeah thats the website I was talking of.
The guy who runs it is the one who had the N64 proto. I was not a poster on that website. I found out because he IMed while it was happening and asked for my advice on what he should do. We had previously spoken about about the prototype M2 units which I have and I suppose he respected my opionion enough to ask it.
Search the forums or ask the man yourself.
Adam
o i have been to that site before..does he still update?
I AM THE PWNER OF ALL THAT PWNS
he hasn't updated it in ages.
Mike Gedeon of Videogameconnection.com has been generous enough to post some pics. He said they will up sometime tomorrow.

Why did you take a bunch of pictures of the back of your head?
Thats no head thats how VGC watermarks his photos.
Adam
Then you obviously don't know what a head looks like...
Pretty stupid if you ask me, you might as well not waste the bandwith on those useless pictures :/
Ohh come on !! Lighten up.Then you obviously don't know what a head looks like...

Thats awesome.
Besides he took some real pics as well which should pop up there any minute now.
Adam
not nice to play with people's... erm.. heads.... or something
Not to backtrack, but I'm still confused by the Resident Evil 1.5 thing. Resident Evil 1.5 is what I've heard an early WIP of RE2 referred to as, which, IIRC, included Leon Kennedy and a different chick (not Claire Redfield) who wore a race car suit. This was developed for PSX, not the Nintendo 64.
RE2 for N64 was developed and released after the PSX version, so unless they were intentionally attempting to do a completely new video game for N64, I find this story highly suspect.
I also looked at that webpage, but didn't see any info about it altogether. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough, I dunno.
