Not much exciting today. I did pick up:
CIB Warcraft III Reign of Chaos: Collectors Edition (BOX IS HUGE!) - $12
original 1980 Speak n Spell - $3
original 1980 Speak n Math - $3
I missed out on a cool tube radio, a guy in front of my picked it up and bought it just as I saw it (damn!)
Anytime. I can give you some good places to check out. I saw 2 copies of Recca while I was there. Expensive, but worth the extra to be able to inspect it before shelling out the cash. Most of the shops have the good stuff in glass cases so it's easy to find. Pretty much everything else is divided out by system and genre. I didn't have an issue finding the stuff I was looking for.
Check out www.videogameconsolelibrary.com for all of your console review needs!
Lots of good sales for Labor Day started today locally, including Movie Trading Co. and Entertainmart. Didn't make it to Movie Trading Co. but at Entertainmart they are having a few good sales including $5 off any blu-ray $6.99 or above, and $5 off any Wii, PS3, or 360 game $7.99 or above. Didn't get any games yet, but had to snag these blu-rays:
Hot Tub Time Machine (Blu ray + DVD + digital copy verson) $4.99
Kickass (BR + DVD + digital copy) $4.99
Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt. 1 (Blu Ray + Digital copy version) $9.99
Band of Brothers (blu ray set) $29.99
Good viewing on this long weekend! I'll post if I go back for some gaming scores!

This is the second Psp lot I got in two months, each for $20. And like the first one this one is also missing it's analog nub. I wonder if thats a common issue with the 1001 series. This one also doesn't seem to want to work. It turns on but the direction pad and analog stick are unresponsive other than letting me scroll right. I'll have to look into a solution or just sell it for parts.
Two Tech files $1 each
High School Year Book that isn't from High School 50 cents
Metroid: Other M strategy guide 1 cent
Third Party PS3 wired controller $5
Brink(360) $10
Sonic 3(Gen) $3
Dragon Knight vhs $1
Wii Maker Plus 2008 $2
These were a mix of Best Buy and Goodwill finds. Of note first is the PS3 controller. It's analog sticks are in the same position as the 360's. I've noticed that alot of third parties have started making PS3 controllers like this, probably because it's the preference of the majority of people who have played using both controllers. It's definitely going to make playing fps games on the PS3 more comfortable. There was another similiar controller at the same Goodwill a few months ago but they were asking $9 for it so I'm glad I waited. Next we have Sonic 3. Like the first Mario Kart game for the Snes, I'm always surprised how I pretty much never see copies of Sonic 3 in the wild. I know it was a popular game that sold a lot of copies but running into it at Goodwill or yard sales is seemingly impossible. I started to think that Sonic 3 and Mario Kart were rare because I never see them. But this year I have finally found one copy of Sonic 3 and two copies of MK so maybe more will start to show up.
I picked up Dragon Knight because I've always heard it was an anime made for more mature audiences.....heh. I won't let that ruin my enjoyment of it. But the best thing I found at that Goodwill was Wii Maker Plus 2008. The Wii hasn't had any good games in....hell, I can't even remember. But that no longer matters because now I can finally make Wii games and mark my words my games are going to be good....wait a minute, that says Will Maker. Those no good swindlers. They ripped me off. How the hell am I gonna make a game using Will software. Oh well.
Boxed Nomad $10
System Mechanic 6(sealed) $3
PS2 translucent controller $3
Eye Toy camera(PS2) $2
I'm always amazed at the stuff people give to Goodwill. This is the second Nomad I've found at this one and it being boxed was a nice bonus. I suppose I'm just lucky that they threw it in the electronics aisle instead of putting it in the display cases at the register. I haven't seen these purple translucent PS2 controllers in years. The light blue ones are all over the place but this one has been MIA forever. Maybe it's worth something. I haven't tried the eye toy camera yet but looking at the games that came out for it I'm not surprised that it never caught on.

I spent $100 on all this today.
Why? It's not dedicated and the CPO is massively cut down. Hit The Ice was a 4 player game that could be crammed into a 2 player cabinet. Sell the marquee and get half of your investment back. As for what cabinet it originally was, ask over at KLOV. I would guess it was just a generic cab originally but the coin door makes me think different.
As for finds, I bought my brother's Wii console for $40. He only had it for a few months and rarely used it, plastic bag still on the nunchuk. $40 for an essentially new Wii, Mario Kart bundle, all bags and boxes - couldn't pass it up.

2600 AC Adaptor - .25
Super C - 1
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - GOTYE (360, Complete) - 3
9 Genesis Games & 16 Atari Computer Games - 10
Found the AC Adaptor in a misc box and was asking price, this was actually the only thing I found on Saturday. Super C was from a return sale from last week, returned this week as the lady was going to be selling again and hinted at having some older video games lost around the house but this was all she found but thinks she has more around, was asking price. Oblivion was marked 5 but took 3.
The last find nothing was priced I saw the Genesis games out and asked about any other video games to which I was told about some "Atari" stuff in the attic. Mom went and asked the kids about it who were still hauling stuff out of the house for the sale and little did she know that they were actually out for sale - they were in the blue & yellow plastic containers in the picture which had their lids closed, a reminder to always look inside of things at yardsales. I offered 5 for all of the cart games and was countered with 10 which I took. Genesis - top row boxed, bottom row complete. Atari - Journey To The Planets is the game with the faded label and the XE games which are harder to read are Archon, GATO & Rescue On Fractalus!
Finally went out and rebought a PSP after selling my launch unit in early 2006. It's a PSP 1000, it was $70. I plan hacking it soon. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus and Star Ocean: Second Evolution were $4.95 each.
These were $2 each because they are missing pages, primarily the articles on Mario/Zelda. The rest are there, and they look pretty cool.
These were free because I bought them at the same store I bought the PSP at. Love the Star Wars Episode I: Racer "label".
Tiny bit today. BTW yes that Uncharted 2 DLC code ended up working.
Killzone 3 CIB, $30
Killzone 3 strategy guide (new sealed), $5
Splatterhouse 360 CIB, free (B1G1 sale)
Lum fan.
*sob* @ ever affording a mint copy of Recca
That looked to be a DAMNED expensive trip....
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
I found this today at the Flea Market. I got this and 12 other CIB games.
This is the best though, the rest were Bomberman, Double Dragon II, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Solstice, Clash at Demonhead, Impossible Mission II, Starship Hector, Gilligan's Island, Where's Waldo, Time Lord, Robowarrior, Kabuki Quantum Fighter.
This game IS FOR TRADE OR SELL.
Here is the scoop on it, the manual you can tell has water damage, the pages are all stiff but none of them stuck together and they open and close great. The box as you can see in one of the pictures has some water marks on it, no tears, or damage to the box, you can just tell there was some kind of water damage.
I am looking for Boxed or Complete SNES stuff in trade, or will entertain cash offers
grabbed 3 wii games used 10$ off on wario!
something i been meaning to get since a previous lot i bought a while back came with like 20 or so PS2 games and i did not have a ps2 to try em on
Found this guy at the goodwill for 20 bucks
Its a Ps2, with all the hook ups, the official clear blue controller, and a official 8mb memory card.
Seemed strange to me to find a PS2 donated. Thought it must have been broken but was like what the hell why not they have 7 day return policy. and yes i know it needs to be cleaned.
Just tried it out with Twisted Metal Black and runs beautifully. So score!
$3 Goodwill - Luigi's Mansion Gamecube
$1 St Vin - Super Mario Land cart Gameboy
They are nice systems but not very ideal for portable gaming. But this is because they require 6 AAA batteries and don't last very long. The best way to play them is from home with the charger plugged in. But why do that when you can just use your tv. It's not too surprising why this system never caught on.
You find it strange to find a PS2 at Goodwill? I'd find it strange if I didn't find one there. Every Goodwill around here has atleast 1-3 PS2's in stock. I always check to see if any of them are Japanese systems but I haven't gotten lucky yet.
