    Default Wrenches for You

Which games have it where you wield wrenches? No just the appearance of a wrench in the game, but where you as the player get to use the wrench or wrenches.

I can think of Team Fortress 2 (lots of wrenches including the default wrench, the Golden "Midas" Wrench, the Southern Hospitality, The Jag) and the Battlefield series.

In Shadow of the Beast you get a wrench as an item in the castle and use it to short a force field.

Games in the following series' all have wrench weapons:

    Condemned
    Dead Rising
    Silent Hill
    Manhunt
    Ratchet & Clank

also video game versions of the classic board game Clue (clever no?)

Wasn't there some NES-era brawler like River City Ransom or Double Dragon where you could use a wrench? Maybe I'm confusing it with just a pipe.

The Incredible Crash Dummies on Genesis/SNES features throwable wrenches as weapons. I can't remember if wrenches show up in the other versions of the game, but they might.

Cid fought with wrenches in Final Fantasy 4. As I recall, they were pretty powerful. (edit: oops, my mistake; they were hammers--not wrenches--as pointed out below)

In Lufia 2, Lexis could wield various tools. I don't remember if any were specifically wrenches, but there were some screwdrivers and pliers. They all had a wrench for an icon in the menu, though--close enough?

Super Sprint, Championship Sprint and Badlands all use wrenches on the track as pickups to purchase car upgrades. In Super Sprint and Championship sprint you're also shown working on your car with a wrench if you come in fourth place.

Also too bad Mario never decided to throw the wreches back at Rocky Wrench in Super Mario Bros. 3 or any of the subsequent games he's appeared in. Some plumber!

Some enemies in Final Fantasy III / VI (the hunchbacks) threw wrenches at you.

You use a wrench in Sam and Max Hit the Road, you use it at World of Fish.

I believe Wrecking Crew had wrench like creatures in it, not sure if they also appeared in any other Mario game.

I believe these were hammers. I'm apologize I don't have any more to contribute, but I wanted to clarify on this. :-)

Dark Cloud 2 featured wieldable wrenches, didn't it? And perhaps Lock's Quest (DS) ?

I feel like I'm forgetting something obvious.

Yeah, they're hammers. However, Cid on Chocobo Dungeon 2 used a wrench.

The Yakuza series you can pick wrenches up from the ground and use them as weapons.

Resident Evil Outbreak and File #2, one character is a mechanic who can make custom weapons, but also can throw wrenches.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

    System Shock 2

    PO'd had a frying pan.

Did any of the Streets of Rage or Final Fight games have wrenches?

Well, if we're going to go there, let's have the mops thread and the chainsaws thread.

In WCW Wrestling for the NES, the crowd would throw a wrench to the outside of the ring when the wrestlers were battling outside of the ring. You can pick it up and use it as a weapon.

I love River City Ransom, but there was no wrench. You could use a rock, lead pipe, brass knuckles, trash cans, tires, chains.. but no wrench per se.
