Apparently several months later things have not improved and Canada's telecommunications regulator on Friday gave Rogers Communications Inc., 'mere days' to stop throttling online games."

Isn't Rogers also the company that makes you sign up for a 3 year contract when you get a new cell phone? So glad I don't have to deal with them.
Rogers sucks. One of the first companies to institute bandwidth caps in NA.
No company forces you to do this. You would only do this if you selected a subsidized phone. At the very least, you are able to buy an iPhone free and clear and use it with no contract. I can't speak for shovelware phones.
The CRTC is a toothless organization that has been stacked with industry shills during the past few years.
If they really wanted to hammer down on Rogers, they would freaking ban traffic shaping.
