Default Numbers on the back of NES carts....

So I've noticed that one of my NES carts has a number on the back label. On the top-right corner is says "rev-A", but in the top left corner, there are some numbers. I have about thirty or so carts, and only one of them has this number. Anyone know what those numbers mean?

    thank you

Great link, I really liked reading it, as well as the article about 5 vs 3 screw carts it in turn links to.

Someone did a lot of detective work to figure out all that info. Great job and pretty interesting. I use to wonder about the numbers from time to time, now I know.

Agreed, people should check out his other article. It never occured to me why Nintendo switched to 3 screws, but now it makes perfect sense. Kids.

yeah, the number I saw on my cart was 24, which unlike the other digit codes, was actually printed. No wonder I never noticed any such numbers on my other carts before. I have other Konami games, but only one with the number 24.

But yeah, that was a very interesting read.

    thank you

*EDIT, yay! I checked the list and my 5 screw copy of Gradius is a little rare
