First review looks good. And the addition of karaoke mode is pure genius:

I bought Xbox points for this, so I'm ready to download it (even if I don't have time to play before the weekend).
I definitely look forward to playing online with those of you who are getting it on 360 and have a Gold account.
Up now on PSN. You may have to search to make it show up.

I'd of bought the PS3 version of Outrun Online Arcade in addition to the XBLA port, if I had been given the opportunity. But I'll probably just stick with the XBLA port of this game. Not a diehard fan of Daytona USA like many are, so I don't feel compelled to own both builds.
Plus, they're going to get more money from me when Super Hang-On is released in the coming weeks.
I posted that at the Daytona USA Xbox 360 board at GameFaqs since it was the first review released and was so positive towards the game, and they all seemed to think it was the worst review ever written.
I thought it was a very promising and positive review that would've pleased me if I was a big Daytona USA fan that was anticipating this game (It's pretty far down on my list of favorite Sega arcade racers, actually). It was very short and basic, but it covered the frame rate question many had, confirmed that most of the pop-up has been alleviated compared to the arcade original which was another big question mark I was seeing at different forums, and the reviewer seems somehwat familiar with the source material (And has also played the console ports, it appears). Even briefly mentions some of the extra modes.
Not sure what they were expecting for such a short review, but I think it covered the basics and is a good sign that this turned out like everyone wanted due to how positive the reviewer was towards the game, I'm looking forward to downloading the XBLA version.

I had a blast today playing the PlayStation 3 version of Daytona USA even with the DualShock 3. I'm not sure if the game is 100% compatible with the Logitech G25, but if it is, I'm gonna plug my G25 into my PlayStation 3 and use that.
I'm looking for some people to race against online. Who's up for it? I should be able to do some online races on Thursday.
I will add your username when I get home. Mine is Ace9921.
The game runs great on 360. It controls very well with the regular controller (left and right triggers are used for breaking and accelerating, while shifting is mapped to the buttons).
Regarding the GameFAQS crowd's reaction to the first review: well, we all know that the average age of Gamefaqs forum users is younger than here, and it's probably a major factor in this case: the UK review covered exactly everything that people familiar with the original game and its few ports wanted to know. I'm sure that those same people probably wouldn't enjoy Daytona USA and would look down on it as being too simplistic. They can go back to Forza Motorsport for all I care (not that I have anything against Forza).
Well worth it for 800 points.
I will say the Challenge mode is a bit too easy. Maybe not for newcomers to the game, but for long-time players like myself, Sega made the Challenge mode a bit too easy. What I can't stand in the Challenge mode is how Sega FORCES you to use Automatic transmission for most of the challenges. I HATE USING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!
This port is a real dream come true for this gamer. Killer. Give us more Sega. Please.
Is there offline multiplayer in this version?
Pretty excited even if it's not included but that would really be the clincher for me...
I'd rather see Turbo, Turbo Outrun, Super Monaco GP, Outrunners, etc.
At least we'll be getting the arcade version of Super Hang-On soon and already have nice home versions of Outrun (Saturn, Dreamcast, and Xbox), Hang-On (Dreamcast and Xbox), and Monaco GP already (Was simulated very nicely on a Saturn import),
I've literally waited over half my life for a port of this quality. Wow. Titles like Daytona represent Sega at its best and reminds us of what once was.
