    Default Gameboy Smart Card

Im sure others have ran into issues with the Gameboy Smartcard.

First, the cartridge seems temperamental. Ill put it in and the writing "Nintendo" at the bottom of the start screen will appear blurred, blacked out or jumbled. To get it to run successfully i have to basically take it out and reinsert it, turn it on, rinse and repeat. After many trys it will run properly.

Second, is the save issue. Save games seem to disappear. The save game will be gone after the blurred writing issue occurs, it seems, or maybe the battery is loose within it. Im not sure, but im thinking it may be due to the blurred Nintendo issue. Anyone know? Not much point to a game if you cant ensure your save game will be there indefinitely (well, for a long time).

Third, the page numbers dont seem to get switched. I do the turn it off and on in under a second and no go. I have it selected in the program for page one but it just keeps loading it with page 2 selected. Page 1 has a gb game and Page 2 has a GBC game, though i doubt this has any weight on the issue.

The "blurred nintendo issue" happens whenever the Game Boy is not correctly reading the game cartridge, it's a symptom, not a problem of its own. Dirty/corroded contacts or a faulty cart are the most likely causes.

Rapid power cycling can also cause loss of game saves on many consoles/portables.
