I asked the question on the product page at ThinkGeek.com and got the following answer back:
Right now we're all about the crazy red design. Though we are planning on coming out with skins, soonish. There's no date on those yet, but they're in the works!

Besides the one I got at launch (summer), I ordered a second one (fall) from ThinkGeek. Both were the rainbow/wood version.
Yeah maybe they ran out and only have red now in stock. It's funny though, when I got my first one and started telling people about it no one cared. However now that a bunch of people got them around the Holidays its pretty popular now. Oh well.
I don't think there's a un-tethered jailbreak for it yet. I have a jailbroken iPad2, but with an older version of iOS.

Awesome. I'd be up for skins with the rainbow/woodgrain designs.
I don't strictly hate the red design, but in comparison to the right-on-ness of the other design it just seems like more of a retro-by-way-of-1993 or something if that makes sense.

I think there's some "unofficial" compatibility with this, seeing as if I put something like NBA Jam it shows up fine, but some obscure titles I threw in didn't appear in the list.

The complete rom set for MAME version 0.37b works. So whatever roms worked in that version will work on iMAME. Same romset and emu version that's been ported to the GP2X, Dingoo, Caanoo, etc etc handhelds.

If they're roms that are actually derived from the 0.37b set they should be showing up, but keep in mind that the 37b set is relatively limited in comparison to modern sets.
Still about 2000+ working unique roms though.
I've hit a few games in that set that crash iMAME but what works tends to do so swimmingly.

I just got my iCade today, and it is totally awesome with iMame. I can't recommend this combination enough.
Weird.... might just be something with my iPod then.
It's weird though, like the game names appear if I open it up in the explorer.

Assuming you have the right version of the Roms, you may just need to tell iMame to rescan. You can either do this through the options menu, using a button at the very bottom, or you can end the application (double-press home, long hold on the icon at the bottom, click the red minus) and restart it. It won't rescan the folder if you just exit and come back in.
For those of you with an iCade, how's the input latency? Even the lag from an HDTV throws me off.
I don't notice any but I have a pretty decent threshold of tolerance for micro-second lag. if you're hyper-sensitive about it I'm sure that there is some present since it not only sends commands over bluetooth but through the keyboard software of the iOS device.
Other online reviews of the product seem to agree that lag is not pronounced to any great degree on any compatible software.

For me the test was playing street fighter 2 hyper fighting. Yes I was able to do the combos. The real limitation is the quality of the buttons and stick, not any perceived lag. I'm too used to japanese sanwa/semitsu quality sticks and buttons now.
I'm pretty sure that the sticks and buttons on these aren't official Happs parts either, just recreations of them. So the buttons are a little stiffer than what I'm used to, so I have to remember to use a little more force than usual in street fighter 2 HF.... especially when "twitching out" moves. But this trumps virtual controls any day of the week.

So hey, Bed Bath and Beyond has the iCade on sale for $50 now. That's petty rad.
Woo NICE! Ordered! Looks like I'm gonna have an iCade Arcade with a 3rd one lol.
By the way, the iCade also works on Android Tablets using the correct emulators.

Oh damn, this thing works nice. There's nearly zero input lag in iMame and Pix'n Love Rush.
Any simple way to adjust only the iCade layout for iMame? The default layout is kind of awkward.
I believe that the first time I booted the thing up with the iCade enabled it prompted me to hit A+X on the virtual buttons, with iCade as the control option that seemed to make all the default layout controller and buttons work as they should.
If you want to tweak the controls in a specific game - when you have a game loaded pressing start + coin on the touch screen to bring up the in-mame options. You can adjust your control and button layouts and do further control tweaking in there as you would in any version of MAME.
Though, note, when assigning buttons, sometimes the first try will register as "mouse input X" (i think that's a touch anywhere on the touch screen that's not a button) ... if you see that happen move off the option, move back on and map the control option again. Single button presses seem to register as HUGE long strings of inputs ... but they work fine.

Is there an easy way to transfer the complete romset over to iPhone? I'm using iExplorer to load them....they transferred fast at first but now I'm at the "K's" they're taking like 5+ seconds for each rom to transfer.
Would it be faster to use sub-folders for the roms instead? Like "A-D", "E-H", etc.?
