Game Genie (NES) Special Edition

I ran into this little thing. I want a game genie and somehow one store is selling a Special Edition 3/94 Game Genie for less than the actual game genie!

Epic find or nobody cares?

The manual says 3/94 Special Edition on it and the box is smaller than the normal Game Genies. Also the sticker on the back has got another sticker over the top of the original sticker, seems a odd rarity, but is it?

i've come across many genies with many label varients, never seen that box or book. Want. i'm wodnering if it was a canadian or other foriegn release?

It's not Canadian, or at least it doesn't look like most boxed Canadian ones I've seen. The Canadian ones are by Camerica, the US ones are by Galoob. That one is by Galoob.

It's not a UK one either, I believe it was released as a Pro Action Replay over there.

It's weird but that Game Genie is written in French on top of it, but it doesn't look like the boxed Game Genies in France either. It has to be some rare type of variant.

It has a UK address in there. It might be a release from way late in the system's lifespan?

It's not a UK one either, I believe it was released as a Pro Action Replay over there.

Pretty sure PAR is a separate device entirely.

You're right, I got confused with that one. Pro Action Replay is made by Datel so it's like a GameShark, which is different than the Game Genie. Some site had both pictured next to each other like they were showing off different versions of the same thing, I didn't really think about that at the time when I posted that.

I contacted the owner of the site to see where he got it from and he claimed that he couldn't find it and now he has relisted it at a higher price.

I would avoid him.
