Definitely gonna have to check it out.
When I went to pick up FF13-2 on Tuesday from BestBuy the guy had a Vita hanging around his neck. I asked if it was just a dummy model to show the size or if it was real, much to my surprise it was real and he let me look at it for a bit. Kind of neat, but I'm guessing most Best Buys will have a similar setup.
Bumping this...
Anyone else try the demo unit yet? It only has one game, Little Deviants, and that's pretty much a tech demo. The hardware itself is amazing IMO. Someone finally got handheld analog right. The dpad feels amazingly comfortable and responsive. The touch features work as you'd expect them to, with great accuracy. The system is definitely better than the 3DS and PSP. The hardware is there, and if it just gets some killer apps, it'll be the gaming handheld to own this generation. The only problem is that the main menu UI is a little confusing. PS Vita exceeded my expectations.

Good to know, I'm gonna check this thing out. I'm still on the fence about it. It's definitely not a day one purchase, but maybe buy year's end?

I played one at best buy yesterday. I tried out the uncharted and wow the graphics were great. the d-pad was very good too and the touch screen was very intuitive also. you could swipe at a few moves in a row and the guy would follow along.
I don't think i will buy at launch but when they get some good games lined out i will definately go for it
It only had Little Deviants when I played, which doesn't use analog. I did feel them out though. They're not sliders anymore. It feels more like shrunk down Dualshock analog sticks. You tilt them like on consoles. If it works as good as it feels, it should be several levels above the PSP and 3DS.

They're for-real-real analog sticks. Better than anything that I've used on any portable console that has analogs (which most of the time are sliders).
ModNation Racers played fantastically with them ... I'm still REALLY pissed that that game is not shipping with online multiplayer, hopefully the devs will listen to the temper-tantrum throwing ModNation faithfuls and patch it later.
And, if anybody is wondering they don't "click" for R3/L3
