    Default N64/Gamecube AV Cord

I know the cords can be used interchangeably, but my question is in regards to color. I have two types of AV cords, one where the part that plugs into the system is black, and one where that part is grey. Was the N64 grey and the GC black? What color did the Pikachu N64 use?

Yes, they changed the colour to black for Gamecube. It used to just be grey.

    Available either grey or black:
    stereo AV
    s-video AV
    Euro RGB

    Grey only:
    mono AV
    Japan RGB

I'm not aware of any black only cables. Or the mono AV being re-released in black.

However... True genuine PAL SNES RGB cables are difficult to find in the wild. It's rumored they may have only reached France.

Just on a side note if you have the Purple Gamecube S-Video Cable you can use that with the Super Nintendo I noticed a sharper more crisp image when i hooked it up to S-Video.

My N64's got the grey cable, but my Pikachu model has the black one.
All my Gamecube's have the black one.
I did buy most of my consoles used though, so can't be sure they came with originals.

Technically (that we know of) Nintendo never released any composite or s-video cable with either an N64 or Gamecube model number.
Packaging mentioning N64, or even containing a black cable and branded for Gamecube, still has the Super Famicom product code.
