Default Are there two versions of the Action Replay for the Genesis?

I bought an Action Replay cart for the Sega Genesis about two months ago. I started googling for codes and found very little info, but I also found that there's a "Pro Action Replay" out there that has slightly different cover art than my own.

I was wondering if they're the same item, just for different regions, or if there were some real differences between them?

    Thanks!

PAR supports unlimited codes on at once, built in code finder, built in code library, and region hardware protection changes through software.

Was it available in America? Again, everything I've found seems to point to an Europe-only release. I'm probably wrong.

European only release by Datel. X-Terminator is the same thing (RAM codes and not ROM codes like a Game Genie) but Datel didn't have anything to do with that.

Innovation released it in very limited numbers in the USA as the Game Wizard for SNES and Genesis. I'm pretty sure their version of it was based on the PAR and not the AR, so it has the trainer and other features, but I do not own one to verify. Innovation had some connections with a lot of China based companies, so it may very well had been released without Datel's blessing through a knockoff hardware manufacturer (EMS did the same thing with the Saturn PAR).

I have the Genesis PAR. It was sold by Datel, although I bought it in the US through an advertisement in a video game magazine. Fantastic device, I highly recommend it. It taught me a lot about hexadecimal when I was a kid.

The Genesis Action Replay is the rare case of a Datel device that only supports ROM cheats like Game Genie. The Pro version adds RAM support (codes FFxxxxxx) and has a built-in trainer to find codes.

The Pro Action Replay MK2 is the newer, upgraded version that alllows 100 codes at once and has a built-in code database.

Yes, they were sold by mail order in ads in EGM and such in the early 90s.
