Default Sinclair Spectrum in book, why not the TS2068 also?

I'm sure most of you don't know about this computer system (Timex/Sinclair 2068), as it was on the American market for about 3 months. It was the sister to the European Sinclair Spectrum, which is listed in the current DP Guide. I was surprised that it was listed, but the Timex/Sinclair 2068 was not!! (I meant to bring this up last year, but forgot about it until now)

For more info on the TS2068, go to http://www.timexsinclair.org/. They cover this short lived system rather well.

There were not a lot of carts for the system, so I can list them here:
Timex Sinclair 2068 Cartridge Programs ( I will only list the games)

07-3000 Flight Simulator (I guess this could be called a game?!)
    07-4000 Pinball
    07-4001 Androids, a maze game.
07-4002 Penetrator, an arcade shoot 'em up.
07-4004 Casino 1, with Blackjack 21, craps, slots.
    07-4005 Crazybugs, a PacMan clone.

The only game I ever owned from the list was Crazybugs. Decent PacMac type game, that was done very nicely.

Maybe this stuff could be combined with the Sinclair Spectrum in the next edition of the DP Guide?!

I've got a 2068 and 3 carts: Androids, Flight Simulator, an Budgeter (not a game). So you're not alone.

I believe there was also a TS1500 that had an addon (TS1510 I think) that allow cartridges to be played on it. I think the available cartridges list is almost exactly the same as the TS2068 list... I can't remember the details for sure without my lists, perhaps someone else knows what I'm talking about here?

Well, I can confirm the existence of the 1500, since I have one. It doesn't work though, so I never pursued getting extras for it. There is an expansion slot across the back which could conceivably be fitted with a cartridge interface.

The 2068 carts do specifically state on the label that they're for the 2068, so even if the same titles they may not work in the 1500.

    Default ts1500

I have the TS1500. No cartridge port or carts to be had. I do believe it did have an addaptor and carts outside the U.S., but I'd have to search around on the internet to confirm this.

Cool. At first I was thinking it was a 1500 adaptor for the 1000 computer, but then I realized it was 1510 (I think) adaptor for the 1500 computer, but wasn't, you know, totally sure.

The 2068 carts do specifically state on the label that they're for the 2068, so even if the same titles they may not work in the 1500.
They DEFINITELY won't, as far as I know... They are the same shape, but a different color, and labelled for the 1500. I'm pretty sure they're not interchangeable, but again, not entirely positive.

Just found out that the 1510 cartridge adaptor for the 1500 did come out. Mainly out of the U.S., but there have been sightings of it in the U.S (can't tell if these were imports, or actually from the U.S.).
Only four carts were made fot the 1510. Unfortunately, I can find no information of what they were.

I'm pretty sure it WAS available here in the US. When I got mine, it wasn't sold to me as an import, and all the labelling appears to be US (like UL Labs info etc, IIRC).

I think it had mostly the same carts as the 2068, at least planned. I'll try to remember to look up my list, and my have list, to confirm what I know.

Yikes, I don't have half the info I thought I had, at least not actually in my list (might have it in the giant pile of temp files I haven't gotten around to processing)... The only cartridge I have listed is this one:

    79002 States & Capitals (82)
Russ Perry Jr, 2175 S Tonne Dr #114, Arlington Hts IL 60005

Will post soon - I finally found out the 'four' carts that were produced for the TS1000/1500 through the TS1510 cart adaptor. 2 were games, 1 educational, and one a finance program. Will post when I get a chance (I'm at work now...)

Will also post the cart listing for the T/S 2068 too (I got that listing too)...

    Default been awhile

It's been a bit since I posted on this topic, but I have found some new info in the Months I've been researching this...

    2068 Cart:
    07-4000 Pinball - (c) A. Laity 1983 Softsync, Inc.

Has anyone here every seen this cart? I've been digging, and even talked with an old Sinclair Collecting expert, and apparently this cart (and cassette) never actually made it out the doors.

Unless anyone has spotted this one, it'll be going under the 'Rumor Mill' section!

Also on the TS1500 side, I have found that the TS1510 cart adaptor and cartridges are VERY RARE. Only one person I have bumped into (Russ Perry) has one - not even Timex/Sinclair collectors have one of these, they are that rare. And the unofficial (but from a good source) number for these carts has them at around 1,500 of each ever made! I have yet to see one for sale anywhere, even ebay in over 6 months now.

I should finally be sending Mr. Joe an update on the Listings for these two systems by next week(1500/2068), as I will have finally have gotten most of the carts and software needed to playtest them for the Guidebook by then (in the case of the TS1500, I will be using cassettes, as I can't get the carts - darn rare items).

Ack! I hate correcting myself. Got my wires crossed here - the Pinball cartridge 'does' exists, it's the cassette version that doesn not! Sorry about that.
