    Default Gaming Headsets

I'm looking into buying a nice headset to use with not only Xbox but my PC, and PS3 as well.

I'm a huge fan of wireless which I know limits my choices and cuts out some quality audio. I'm ok with that con.

I've been looking at the Turtle Beach XP400 and XP500 sets

both are pretty similar with few differences. My big draw to the 400s is the wifi wireless that for some reason the 500s doesn't use the higher frequencies.
The 500s have prologic II which the 500s don't. Also I don't care about the custom audio settings the 500s offer.

In your opinion which one is better for value, or if you have a different set in mind let me know.

Astro A40 wireless. Works with 360, PS3, and PC.

I'm sure there are a few decent headsets out there that cost less, but in the end...you get what you pay for. Just buy the best and be done with it.

The only problem you're going to encounter, is that the PS3 uses Blue-tooth technology for its headsets, so you're going to have to get one that supports that. Neither of those headsets will work for online gaming with the PS3, but will work okay for personnal gaming.

I have the (wired) Turtle Beach DX11, which includes the DSS 7.1 surround mudule. I use that for my PC and Xbox 360. There's also the DX12.

Cool! According to the review I just read, the XP 400 looks like the better option.

I just want to emphasize this post in saying that I've heard nothing but great reviews of the Astro A40, and even Astro products in general. I recently started doing research into this because I'm interested in getting a gaming headset also, and there is so much praise towards these.

I recently bought the Astro MixAmp Pro so I can listen to music while getting the game sound through my headphones. It's so amazing; I've been looking for a product like this for years. Astro is definitely a solid company.
