What are your thoughts?
I wanna grab one to play my NES on since every article I've googled across lauds the hell out of this monitor. What is a good price for one?

$50.
If you can get one, get one. I like old monitors. Just keep in mind, they're old monitors. You're gonna have to adjust them to get optimum picture quality, but you probably already knew that I own a Commodore 1084-D myself, and I adjusted my Pots (potentiometers).
$50 is pretty steep. I'd pay half that.
I got a few for free years ago, but recently donated them to a commodore user group because I had no room for them.
I also had one of those monitors with the plastic screen guard and the big contrast and brightness knobs, although the model number escapes me.
They're great for systems that are limited to composite or s-video.
The 1084 has more geometry adjustments and RGB support, though.

I paid $35 for a 1702 and love it. I must have been quite the sight sitting there playing NES on a 17" monitor when there was a 25" tv sitting directly behind it. The crispness of the lines is just amazing. I'd love to find a 1084, but this is just fine for now.

I have a couple 1084 monitors. one being a 1084s that I use for not only my Amigas but my SNES and Genesis as well. The picture quality is superb. Makes the old games that much more fun to play. I actually prefer these monitors over a CRT.
I paid $10 for mine and I absolutely love it for gaming. My one lament is that the place I got it had a few others but I didn't buy any others because I didn't have the room. I wish I would have bought at least one more for that price.

I used a Commodore 2002 monitor for my 8 and 16 bit gaming up until a few months ago. It was great. $50 seems a little steep, I saw a c64 w/ 1702 at a yard sale for $20. Should have bought it but I figured I already had both.
If you can't do it with 8 bits, you don't need to do it!
The price has gone up over the years. They used to be everywhere and cheap but a bit harder to find these days.
I have 3 here that have all died from heavy use. I wish I could replace them for $10-$15. Try to find one local because shipping on these things is a bitch.
Payed $70.00 back in 02 or 03 i think for a 1702 C64 montior on ebay.Still,it can be flickle for when it's working right far as picture go's but it is sharp for being composite. Most of the time i'll run the famicom, genesis or pc-engine on it.Now i've heard "it can be modded for s-video" but i don't know any body that can do that.Still i wouldn't mind having a 1804 that has a little more far av connections go.
