    Default gamecube mobile monitor question

I picked up a used gamecube mobile monitor by interact and I was hoping someone was familair with it. It came with

    the unit itself and
one attachment cord for the cigarette lighter.

The unit has a plug that fits into the back of the AV slot on the gamecube and a smaller piece that has a small tag on it saying DC IN 12 V , it appears to need a 12 volt power supply to power up the unit.

If I take it outside to my car plug it in the cigarette lighter the power light comes on.

Inside however it does not seem like it is designed to pull power from the GC , so I believe I need to go to radio shack and buy a 12 V power supply (since I do not have one). I tried other 9 volt and 10 volts but they do not seem to have the power to make it work.

Does anyone know if this is correct that the unit itself needs a seperate power supply when played indoors?

I remember having one of those at one point, and IIRC, it had a plug that went into the AC for the Cube itself. That way, it powered them both. It's been a while since I've seen one, but I'm pretty sure that's the way it works.

Unfortunately, since Interact is defunct, I dunno where you could look.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

I have one of those, so I can tell you what I know. For playing indoors I used to use the regular GC power cord and that would power both the screen and the GC....With the car adapter however, sometimes it would take about 20-30 seconds to boot up when plugged into the cig. lighter.

You can also buy those battery packs for GC. I have one of those so thats what I use when I am in teh car. They don't last very long, maybe a couple of hours so you may want to buy 2.

hope that helps, if you need more specifics, let me know and I can dig mine out of the closet and hook it up.
