Exclamation Help me name that SNES/NES game!

    Hey guys,

I am trying to recall a game I played as a child over at my neighbours. It was a platformer on either the NES or SNES, I cannot remember as he had both consoles... I am leaning towards the NES as I was fairly young.

You could play as three or four different types of characters, each with their own ability. When you died you got to play the next character. I want to say it they were based on earth, fire, wind and water, but I can't be 100% sure. At the beginning, if you went left you entered a secret room where you could get extra life. If you went right, you would encounter your first enemy pretty quickly. For memory, the background was blue at the beginning because you started outside.

I don't think it was a very well known game.

I know most of you have been in the same boat trying to remember games, it can be quite frustrating!

    Any suggestions?

Sounds like Legacy of the Wizard (NES) to me.

Hmm nah, it is neither of those. I'm pretty sure the title was one word.

    I'll keep searching.

Playing as the next character after you die? King's Knight.
But the rest of the description doesn't fit.

Maybe you don't play the next character once you die, but I do remember you could play different toons with different abilities.

That sounds like the I've played of Jewel Master, but I don't that was a Genesis exclusive, so probably not.

    it wasn't SMB2.

I actually found the game title roughly 3-4 years ago and made sure to note it down, but I have lost it. I remember it being quite an obscure name, and most people had never heard of it.

Thanks for trying guys! Alas it is none of the suggestions

I'll scour the internet this weekend and see what I can find.

Ufouria was never released in the US on NES, so that would explain why it was tough to guess, since if people assumed you were in the US like most of us, you wouldn't likely be playing it at a neighbor's house as a kid.

Sorry, I hope I didn't insult you. It's kinda hard to tell how much experience someone has with classic games unless they've been around for a while

No offence taken. Don't forget us lonely aussies down here!

Not sure why they never released the game in the US. It was released in Aus, EU, and Jpn in the early 90s and was an awesome game. I recommend you check it out.

Really appreciate the input guys. Cheers.

I was thinking SNES Lost Vikings. Great game, each viking has a special ability, sometimes all three are needed to complete a level.
