    Default IControlpad 2 on Kickstarter

Looks like the IControlpad team have developed a new Icontrolpad 2 which has full gaming controls and a keyboard. You can use it to play games on smartphones, tablets etc using its real controls. I think you can also use it as a media controller or controller / keyboard for the Rasberry Pi

It's up on Kickstarter now, see link below:

I don't really like it... The iControlPad was pretty much always just a roundabout method of getting physical controls to work on a smart device, and there's been many other, possibly better solutions since. The keypad just seems needlessly extraneous to me as well, as there are plenty of slide-out keypads you can buy for your mobile phone, or in the case of some Android phones, are built-in...

Um , your forgetting about the fact that this has both keyboard and game controls which are neccerray for Amiga and all the old computer system emulation for games and programs. The fact that no other controller out there has both of these along with a simple swivel slider gripper mechanism for your phone is why I pledged.

Being able to map the controller to the screen controls has me sold. That's amazing, and I'm sure also thought impossible by any other developer. Awesome.

So do 90's home consoles, but we all love those.

I think it's great. Don't care how it looks, that's not ever why I'd buy it.

Let me clarify, it's not physically unattractive, but it looks like it would be awful to use. Way too many buttons in a very small space.
