eBay prices (rough)
Jack Bros - $200+
Waterworld - $100
System - $100+
Mario Clash - $50
Nester's - $40
Tetris - $40
Wario - $25+
Telero - $20
Red Alarm - $20
Vertical - $20
That's 615 with 5 more titles to add up, and I'd say CIB they'd each be ~20. Total eBay cost would be 700ish then. He's selling as a lot, so that ought to lower the price quite a bit, but since it is a complete set I think that bumps it up. Seems pretty fair to me, he'll save a ton on fees and the buyer doesn't have to quite pay eBay prices. I'd probably buy it myself if I were there. Those 2 main titles just keep going up!
I'm always keeping an eye on the VB market and he's about right on the price. If you are a complete and boxed collector, this would be a decent way to get the entire run in one shot. I saw a collection similar to this but with everything loose sell for $300 at a local gaming show and that was a pretty good price.
So it really depends on how much you value the completeness of the collection and of course, your time and effort. You could spend quite a bit of time digging through ebay to find all of this stuff, getting it delivered, etc. Your time is worth something in this as well!

It's probably worth every bit of $600 to a collector in terms of part out value. I know I'd want at least $1000 if I ever sold mine.
However, from a buyer's perspective, I want a price break if I'm buying all at once. I'd stick to my guns and try to get it for $500 or less.
This is the full set sale he's referencing from last week at $600+

However, one BIG difference between the two also. The set sold on eBay had a Mario Tennis CIB w/ display box, and the listing you linked is missing that. Mario Tennis CIB is about $100 itself and I'd place it as the 2nd most valuable CIB in the set between Jack Bros and Waterworld.
So I'd pass on that but try to negotiate with the guy and he may budge. Also mention that eBay/paypal takes approximately 10-15%, so $600 on eBay could be equivalent to $550 cash in hand.
WTB Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut Manual Only... PM ME!!
Was Mario Tennis (US) ever sold by itself (in a non "Display Only" box)?
I thought it was a pack-in the entire run, making a separate release pointless.
