they say the G-Rom dosent work but it boots up. i don't really know much about these what info is around ?

Maybe search and lurk on the Assembler.com forums. From what I've seen, those guys seem to be really into dev units.

There are quite a few knowledgeable people around here, and as StealthLurker mentioned, on other sites.
I would say to wait until you receive it. Then you will be able to provide more details (and get more info). Right now you don't have a lot to go on, so it is difficult to point you in the right direction.
Ok i got it the drive dosent pop out like they should but if you tip the system the drive slides out and when you pust it back it is sounds like its reading but dosnt say checking disk ?
You'll need a PC with a scsi adapter in it to connect to the development kit. You don't need the drive per se if you want to play with development as you can emulate a disc via a drive within the development kit. Do you know what revision of kit you are getting?
Setting one up can be challenging, let me know if you have any questions.
Also, there are some drivers to use a Katana with Windows 7 on assemblergames.com. Otherwise you will need to run an older OS to get it to work.
