How much is a CIB copy worth guys?
How much is a CIB copy worth guys?
Not much. I have had a complete copy for 4 years and can't sell it for over 20.
You are all wrong. I sold a Cart and Box for 50 a few weeks ago. I have it complete already and the cart/box was a double.
Please refer to this link to see that it has sold complete for 69, 85, 100, and higher multiple times.

You're all on crack.
You're looking at auctions, Baloo. Auctions always yield significantly less prices, which Is why I would never put expensive things on auction. If he made a fixed price listing, it would sell over time for far more than 30-40 to someone who doesn't want to wait or risk bidding.
These two both sold around 100, and several others are 60 or higher. patience is all it takes to make a sale sometimes.

Patience, young padowan..
People like you are why video game prices are higher now, because some asshole always has to overcharge on the BINs and then when a few decide to finally sell after 3 months of sitting there all the prices go up.
eBay Completed Listings have always been the way to price video game items, you're just price gouging.
If you looked at trends and data, you'd find you're wrong. Your anecdotal evidence is bad and you should feel bad.
Auctions don't yield less or more - they have a larger window of price, both low end and high end. It's risk/reward and you really need to look at the individual titles before deciding which format works better for you. Furthermore, bid auctions set the higher prices for these BIN/BO auctions since they have the higher window of value. The bid auction price then becomes 'what a seller can expect'. However, people won't bite at auctions that don't have preceding data and BIN/BO won't do the job.
The best example of this is Zombie Nation, for the NES. Look at that spike? That was from 2-3 bid auctions and all the BIN/BO auctions afterwards were a result of those bid auctions. There are many other titles, specifically on NES and SNES that have direct examples of this effect.

Bro, do you even videogamepricecarts?
Video Game Price Charts are garbage. I hate it when people reference that. It's impossible for that program to take into account individual condition, special factors, and whether or not a box or manual is included. It's a machine that tries, but doesn't succeed efficiently enough for me to use.
And no, I'm not the reason "prices are so high", What do you think I am, a store?
It doesn't matter what you think prices should be, in the end, if someone is willing to pay a certain amount for something they want, then that becomes it's value. It's as simple as that.
We can close this thread, he got his answer. This thread doesn't concern who's wrong or who's right. The "actual data" you speak of is gathered by a faulty computer program. That will be all.
It is "worth" what a potential buyer will pay for it. I have sold 2 CIB copy's for $44 and $17 respectfully at auction. The game has lost a lot of it's collectability since the release of Splatterhouse for the 360 as it contains the first 3 games as unlockables. Those 2 copies were sold even before it's release.
If you can get someone to actually give you $40 for a copy now, hooray for you!
Winner!
Before the current generation Splatterhouse came out, it was $70-$90 all day long.
After, it got as low as $35-$45.
Now, probably more like $60-$70.
Not sure what all of the arguing in this thread is, but averaged auctions are true indicators are value. Some auctions may go high, some may go low. But auctions show what two people are willing to pay, which is a market. A BIN is simply the most you can extort out of one impatient buyer, and after that buyer gets his copy, the second person in line may offer far less.
