WII-U and rock band instruments?

Can anyone confirm or do they know if any instruments work for the WII-U while running Rock Band in WII mode?

no idea but interested in the answer as I am interested in picking up these games again (been a few years since I played) for the wii and using on a wii u down the road might be nice
