What's up with this battletoads cartridge?

Listed here are three genesis games: Valis III, Smash TV and Battletoads. I normally wouldn't care all too much about this specific lot, but there's something that's really peaked my interest: The label on the battletoads cartridge. I know the US release is just the "battletoads" text on a red background, so what's up with this one that seems to recycle the boxart? Is it a legitimate later release, a canadian release, or just a pirate/repro?

EDIT: just noticed it has an ESRB rating. Perhaps it is a rerelease then?

Looks legit to me. ... in fact the version of the game I played years ago was the rerelease. I had no idea there was a logo-only version of the game.
