Right now, I'm trying to figure out the best way to get a Vectrex from Ohio to Vegas via the airlines (forgot to mail the damn thing earlier this week). Other than this little snafu, I'm all set.

Question: Could I box it up nicely for shipping (as if it were being mailed), then check it as luggage? Or is this a foolhardy venture?

I'm not leaving until Friday. I considered packing already, but figured I might need my toothbrush, soap, shampoo and deodorant before then. Now I just have to find a bag big enough to cram all those games into!

I'm actually brushing up on my gambling skills for CGE (classic style of course). It's been 2600 Casino, 2600 Slot Machine, Intellivision Royal Dealer and Intellivision Roulette for me. Now where's that Intellivision Craps prototype when you need it?

I'm almost packed completely, I start the drive to Vegas tomorrow morning. I've got my suitcase on the floor, most of my stuff in it (with a sock or two hanging off the side), listening to Retro Radio on my PDA as I type, and dreaming and drooling about all the goodies I'm planning on taking home! Gonna be amazing!

I'm packing my trade stuff up tonight and heading out Thursday. I have been to all of the CGE and WOA, but mostly been a fly on the wall. Looking forward to meeting collectors besides my close friends.

Ditto, IGtD! We've got at LEAST 70 forum members in attendance at CGE.

As prepared as I have been, I still feel "unprepared" for the trip tomorrow! My "to do" list is mostly checked off but there are still a few things to get done. Doesn't look like I'll be getting a good nights' sleep!

See you all in a few days.

You don't know me very well.. driving is somewhat of a passion My car is about a year and a half old with 31,000 miles on it It's only a day and a half drive really (or a really, really long day.. drove Niagara Falls to home in 19 hours, about 1200 miles).

I'm taking it slow, might stop at a few touristy places on the way out (Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, etc).. plus, there will be four of us cooped up in the car.. of course it will be fun!

I used to do the Green Bay to Northwest Arkansas run in a single day. Almost nonstop. With my kitties riding shotgun on a couple of trips. Getting to Vegas with more than one person to take the wheel will be a cakewalk compared to that.

Funny how icbrkr lives just up the highway from me, and yet we will never have met in person until this weekend in Vegas.

Heh.. it's true! I would have figured we'd cross paths by now since I'm sure I've hit many of the places you go!

See, you're more insane than me, none of my cats besides one of them will even sit in a car for any length of time without freaking out. And to drive from Green Bay with them is even more insane (I've made that drive a few times too, father in law was at the VA's hospital in Milwaukee).

I won a bookshelf stereo a few years ago in Florida on vacation at a timeshare (they thought I had money since I was staying there) and I just checked it in the box it came in with no problems. However, it was in a box that said exactly what was inside and this was before 9/11. You may have to demonstrate that it works.

Well, it fits (barely) into my usually carry-on luggage. Will probably carry it that way and avoid risking it getting destroyed in the cargo hold. Will also get to the airport eeeeeeeextra early so the screeners can look it over thoroughly. (Plus, I always get stopped for my Gameboy anyway.) Might as well tell 'em, "My suitcase also has a videogame system in it with a built-in screen. Looks like a small TV. I'll be happy to demonstrate it for you." Hopefully my willingness to disclose what's up might speed things along.
