Default Burning my Going to Vegas Road Trip music

    George Clinton
    Anthony Rother
    Kraftwerk
    The Hives
    Erasure
    Daft Punk

I try to put together music I don't listen to all the time.

and of course I will pop in the Honeymoon in Vegas soundrack at State Line (there are some traditions you can't mess with).

What is on your road trip list and what are your Vegas traditions?

I just got a couple of excellent new soundtracks which I'll be listening to on the plane, and I'm gonna suck up some more of the Star Wars NPR radio drama fun en route too.

I don't have any Vegas traditions yet - but we'll see what happens.

My roadtrip music is... XM Radio baybee! I swear that thing is worth its weight in gold.

Besides that, I plan on bringing some comedy CDs: Lewis Black, Dane Cook, Mitch Hedberg, etc.

Oh, I'm probably gonna be jamming out to one Mr. Tony Fox's I Am Humanoid too, by the bye. Seems appropriate somehow.

In addition to Sirius satellite radio I've also got my MP3 player that I put a 40gig hard drive in so it's got about 700 CDs worth of music on it (and about 8 gig to spare) so I think I'm set for the drive from Sacramento, CA.

A ton of different stuff, broken up into 5 categories: Anime music, Instrumental music, Techno, Rock, and Video Game Music. More than music, I picked up a complete unabridged audio book of Arthur C. Clarke's Short stories, which will keep me frosty for about 13 hours of the drive. I'm also picking up some VHS tapes to keep me company on my car's TV (I know, I need to upgrade to DVD). I will probably also try and get some digital copies of This American Life to listen to.

If there's one thing I've learned about road trips, it's that music alone DOES NOT cut it. You need another human voice to listen to, especially if you are driving alone (like me).

My drive is only 4 and a half hours. Still a roadtrip though.

My drive is between 27 and 35 hours depending on whether you sleep or not. Last year I drove from Seattle to Vegas with no sleep, and stopping at my indian reservation for a couple hours, for a total of 30 hours. I then proceeded to play blackjack for 14 more hours, for a total of 50 hours of NO sleep between when I woke up before leaving on Wednesday, and Finally Passing out Friday afternoon.

    God I love Vegas.

An incredibly good choice. I listened to that CD over and over on the way BACK from last year's CGE.

I always swing by the neighborhood Babbages the morning I depart and pick up a few new Gameboy games to play on the flight out. I like to spend the entire trip out to the gaming convention doing nothing more than GAMING. Usually something meaty like a good RPG. Well, I just got my birthday present from the Mizzus - a new Gameboy Advance SP and WarioWare Inc. I think I have my airline entertainment for this trip.

I just burned my CGE music CD last night and it holsd:
    - Blue Man Group
    - Enigma
    - 8-bit Weapon
    - Buffy DP, Firestarter and all the other groups DP had available for download (Tony Fox, minibosses, FIrestarter and Kids Stuff records).

I can't go to Vegas without listening to some BMG or 8BW!

Yay I've got 16 episodes of This American Life on mp3 now! That's 16 hours of TAL, 16 hours of Audio Books (Collected Arthur C Clarke and the new Jon Krakauer book, Under the Banner of Heaven), 10 hours of MP3s, and 3 new VHS movies. I'll probably be bringing my Dreamcast again this year as well. Space Channel 5 can be played quite easily while driving
