Default Any thoughts on the 'Arcadia 2001' system?

I know nothing about this classic system beyond a few pictures on the internet. The controllers look like an odd flipped around ColecoVision controller.
    What are the best games?
What is is closest to graphically: Atari VCS (2600), ColecoVision, or Intellivision?

Anything else you can add to the topic is welcome!

The controllers are virtually identical to Intellivision controllers, right down to being hard wired and having overlays to stick over the number pads. The biggest difference is a hole in the center of the control disc that you can screw a tiny stick into (which was more a novelty than anything, it certainly didn't control any better).

I've never played a Colecovision, but I'd put the Arcadia much closer to Intellivision (which was the first real system we had) graphically than 2600 (which plenty of my friends had had).

Problem is none of the games (at least the ones I had) were particularly good. Of course it could just be that by the time I got it (mom let us buy it at a school fundraiser auction) I was really wanting an NES, so it was bound to disappoint.

This video will give you an idea of what the games looked like. They're actually not bad for the time. Kinda on par with Intellivision IMO.

Wow, what year was Jump Bug on Arcadia?
Jump Bug was the first scrolling platform game (horizontal and vertical):

So maybe the Arcadia had the first scrolling platform game on home consoles (Pitfall on VCS was not a scroller, but a flick-screen platform game)

Not worth buying unless you are a die hard collector who must have everything.

A member on AtariAge: 5-11 Under actually made a custom multicart that has every physical release game for the system on it as well as all the homebrews he could find at the time of making the cart. He might still be making them by hand but I'm not sure if he has any more left or not. I bought one because its a few of a kind type of item, but I haven't bought myself another system yet.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

So far I have these games: Escape, Cat Trax, 3d Bowling, Baseball, & Space Attack. Also one box and a few controller overlays. Thanks for the tips DP folks!

I've got one, with Jungler and Escape (found those games in a movie rental store that also buys and sells games, but no console - took me a while to get the machine to play them on) but unfortunately my player 1 joystick is a bit wonky; it needs some work since I can't go left.

Still, graphically it's not a bad little system. Too bad most of the games were made by Hong Kong minimum wage programmers and aren't very fun.

I just got one and the controllers don't work. Can they be fixed?
