Some great stuff came in the mail earlier today:

    -Pandora's Tower
-Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner ~ Soul Hackers

    -Soul Sacrifice

There seems to be a reversible artwork on the other side and it's quite nice to see!

    And lastly:

    -Fire Emblem (The Blazing Sword)
    -Shadowgate Classic

The seller who sold me Fire Emblem also included a Shadowgate cart in the package. It was really unexpected and I thought it was really sweet of them to give an extra game for double the fun

I lived my life with no fear nor hatred... For these traits are certain to the content of my immortal being.

    Found these at Goodwill.

I know they aren't particularly rare or anything, but I've never touched or even looked at 3DO stuff before. Anyone have any idea what they'd be worth approximately? Both are complete as far as I can tell, and great condition

Default (Mostly) Video Game Finds 2012

I got behind with posting most of what I found in 2012 and just recently got around to uploading all of the pictures.

    Auctions - http://imgur.com/a/vb7hO

    Craigslist - http://imgur.com/a/ykkqz

    Flea Market - http://imgur.com/a/CGK7n

    Misc Stuff - http://imgur.com/a/as0OT

    Yardsales - http://imgur.com/a/TG9yf

I will note that 1) imgur seems to delete any blank lines (which was the only problem I had with imgur as a means of hosting all of these pictures) and 2) I didn't double check everything I typed up so if anything is messed and doesn't make sense that is most likely why. Proof reading all of this in bulk is just too much for a guy like me who is better with numbers then letters.

Jesus Christ. I would sell my soul to the devil for a fraction of those finds. I check the scant few options I have available to me, and I come up dry or with ebay prices every time.

It's incredibly discouraging to look as hard as you can and see other people find treasure troves on a regular basis.

Do you have any unconventional tips? I'm getting ready to quit trying to collect at this point, and I'm not even aiming at more desirable systems like SNES, Saturn, or TG-16.

Proximity to a metropolitan area. Game distribution isn't all roses as people seem to think. A lot of titles get few copies sent out to nowheresville.

As I'm sure plenty of people here would agree it is a lot of work looking for deals on old games in the wild, not every day is a zinger either for example I went out today for about 4 hours went to 25 yardsales and only found a few meh finds for my efforts.

I keep track of the addresses I've been to before for yardsales and skip them figuring that the chances of finding older games at a repeat sale to be slimmer or go back to them if for some reason I think they may have something I'm interested in from when I was at a yardsale the previous year(s). Another thing I found that works for me is I have found games more consistently in two areas around me. I normally start out in these two areas most days aside from starting elsewhere for other reasons that over rule this (some thing advertised I'm interested in, lots of sales in another area vs very few sales in the areas I normally do better in).

Unfortunately with the influence of online selling becoming more common place every year it's harder to find deals IMO (this doesn't just apply to video games) either the price is higher or a few people I've talked already this year hinted at something video game related that was found when getting ready for their yardsale that they rounded up that they had no interest in selling (or at least at a yardsale).

Every area is different in what you can expect on an average day. I'd say if you haven't already stick with it for about a month and decide then if it's worth your time, trouble & gas money.

FWIW I don't live in the middle of nowhere but I certainly don't live in a metropolitan area. For example I remember my one friend getting the only copy of Mega Man 7 that our local Electronics Boutique got when it came out and Electronics Boutique was the only store around me that carried TG-16 stuff when it was current.

Nothing real special, but swung by a flea market earlier today and picked up two cartridge SNES games I don't have:
The Adventures of Dr. Franken ($3)
    Spanky's Quest ($4)

I could use another monster-themed game and Spanky just looked interesting.

I'm personally not a fan or repros of something that was published and is still available, but at least the cart label is distinct enough not to be confused with a US or JP release. That's just my 2c though.

Oh yeah I'm not trying to make them look like the real deal which is why I put my blogs address on the label.

and Clockwork Knights and Command and Conquer for the Saturn

I'm looking for manuals for both and an insert for Clockwork knights. If anyone here got what I need give me a pm.

I'm happy i've found the C&C game. now I'm 2 C&C games short to complete my console version collection. All I need now is Red Alert and Red Alert Retaliation on the PS1.
