    Default June 2013 Finds

Call of Duty: Black Ops II(360) $20
    Super Mario Sunshine(GC) $4
Two Sailor Moon dvds $4 each
    Pokemon White(DS) received in trade
    Y's I & II Chronicles cd sealed $2
    Green Lantern dvd sealed $2

The dvds, cd and Super Mario Sunshine all came from Goodwill and thrift shops. I traded a copy of Super Mario 64 and Yoshi's Story for Pokemon White and $5 cash. Thats the first time I've traded for any games in a long time but I saw it as a quick way to move some stuff that wasn't selling. Black Ops II is the only thing in here that was for me. It was at a yard sale and the guy had it marked at $25 but I offered him $20 and he accepted. I can't believe this game has been out for half a year and I'm only now getting around to picking it up. And this is all the more reason why I don't want the console makers messing with used games next gen.

    Halo Wars(360) $1
    Grid(360) $1
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III preview disc $4
    4 DS Game cases $1
    3DS Charger and cradle $5
    Macross VF-X 2(PS1) $4

I just picked up Halo Wars and Grid at a yard sale this morning. This is the second time I've picked up a copy of Halo Wars that had an unused DLC card in the case. Either people who got this only played it offline or they decided it wasn't their kind of game before getting around to downloading the extra content. Grid was a nice pick up because I missed out on it a few years ago as a Target clearance when I had some financial issues at the time. The DS cases were from the same yard sale because she was still setting up when I initially got there so when I went back she had more stuff out. The GC game, 3DS charger and Macross were all from goodwill. Macross VF-X 2 was mixed in with the music cds and thats probably why it was in such good condition. It even included it's spine card. Weird that it would end up at Goodwill with no other sign of any imports.

Finally picked up something good from my local Goodwill. Not good enough for pictures, though.

I got all the following games for $3 each. They are all complete except for one, see if you can figure which one:

    Hard Drivin'
    World Championship Soccer II
    Castlevania Bloodlines
    Toy Story
    Spider-Man X-Men Arcade's Revenge
    Taz in Escape from Mars

Yep, you guessed it. Castlevania came pretty much as a loose cart. Well, it did come in a case, but it only had the paper insert taped to the outside of the case. I left about 7 or 8 more there since I didn't need them.

You're throwing them out or did you save them from the trash? That copy of Betrayal isn't on DVD, it's actually worth a decent amount for a VHS tape. It's worth around $10-$30. I think I might have a copy of it too.

I'm sorry,I didn't type it right..I saved them from the trash..

I hit the flea market late so I often catch the stuff headed for the trash before t hits the trash or just left on the ground.=free then : )..

Yup I checked the copy of Betrayal...it's heavy...Surprised it's worth some bucks..I need to list and sell it,first test it ..I just haven't had a VCR hooked up in awhile and I hope it doesn't Eat the Tape..

Stuff from FanimeCon that I'm just now having a chance to go through and catalog. No $5 PCEngine consoles this year but then again I completely missed Thursday swap meet and from what I hear that's where the variety of stuff up my alley truly was. Oh well, next year.

This is from a guy in the artist's alley that went in a completely different direction with fuse beads. We talked for awhile and he said that he and his friend would end up spending more money on framing than they would on the actual art piece so they wanted to offer everything already set to hang on the wall. From that they came up with the idea of building 2.5D environments within the framed space. He had a bunch of different setups: Ken and Ryu throwing fireballs at one another but split into different frames, a few different Legend of Zelda and A Link to the Past scenes, a huge piece with all the player sprites from Chrono Trigger in attack stances, Sonic, Mario - just incredible artwork. My girlfriend and I were really on the fence about the Chrono Trigger piece but decided to go for something smaller and less expensive, in this case Mario from Super Mario World. It may be hard to see in the picture but the frame is about an inch thick and if you think of a View Master slide, that's how the artwork is presented. Mario is in the foreground, then the clouds are behind him in two different layers, the Yoshi coin behind them, and then the background behind everything. These went over huge and he was completely sold out by Sunday afternoon. I really hope he comes back next year as I'll be saving up to buy more. It looks awesome hanging up, best $60 I've ever spent at a con.

Friday swap meet. Starflight is complete with the big manual and navigation chart, it and Bomberman were $20. Unfortunately I forgot I already have a copy of Bomberman so if anyone wants it, how about $12 shipped in a padded envelope? The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was $5. I figured I could punish myself with it after seeing the game on GameCenter CX, although the level order is completely different between the USA and JPN versions.

Moving into non-gaming territory briefly, Friday swap meet again. Sailormoon SuperS movie art book for $20, one I was missing. I didn't even realize there were a couple pencil boards tucked behind the poster in the inside cover. Made me feel a little bad for haggling down from $25 as if I knew they were in there I would have just paid $25 or given them back at $20.

Friday swap meet for the Roujin Z DVD, $1 sealed. I paid $20 for this last year from a dealer as it's one of my all time favorite movies, animated or not. I don't really need a second copy but I couldn't pass it up for a buck and I'll probably give it to a friend if they really like the film after watching it.

Armored Trooper VOTOMs Kubricks were $35 from a local dealer. This is pretty much fair value and I tried to get them to come down a little more but she wouldn't have any of it. Oh well, there was no way I wasn't taking them home. I mean it's a tiny Chirico Cuvie and a tiny Proto One! With their matching ATs! And Chirico's even has a tiny little red shoulder!! Ah hell, no one likes VOTOMs but me. In fact in the nostalgia room when episodes 6-10 of VOTOMs was being screened, the only people in attendance were myself, my girlfriend, one other person, and the volunteer running the equipment (who was freaking awesome by the way). I guess it's just too old school and too much hard science fiction for modern tastes. Then again, we didn't gain very many people when PATLABOR started after it, so maybe it was just too early in the morning.

Got these for £1 each at a local thrift shop:

Really happy with the sealed Castlevania! Also, the GBA game Dogz was included in the Animal Planet game as well.

Also got this in the post:

    Here's a pic of yesterday's stuff:

And here's what I found today:

Beavis and Butthead (Genesis) CIB - $3
FX Fighter (PC, sealed, super budget version) - $1.50
Twisted Mini Golf (PC, sealed, super budget version) - $1.50

The two super budget versions are from a company called "CompuPrizes", which sold these games over the internet like ten years back. They sold a combination of shareware and full versions, and I'm pretty sure these are full versions, but I have to play them to be sure.

Napalm (NAM), PC, CD in case - $1
Spec Ops Stealth Patrol (PS1, sealed) - $1
    Running Wild (PS1) - $1
Pro Pinball Fantastic Journey - $1
GameShark 2 v1.1 (disc scratched, hope it works) - $2

The GameShark's going to be sold on eBay. I thought Napalm was a sequel to NAM, but it's the same game! NAM was just the title the game had for fuddy-duddy stores like WalMart. Ugh. Ah well!

Got another Genesis yesterday. This one is a VA7, so I'm not planning on keeping it. It's one of the last things I need to make my Genesis YouTube video series. It looked like crap when it showed up. It didn't clean up too bad.

Ended up going on a cross-country drive to a flea market and some thrift stores, after six hours the only thing I have to show for it is a factory sealed copy of The Simpsons-Bart vs. The Space Mutants for the NES for $5. I don't really collect Nintendo stuff, but it's so difficult to find shrinkwrapped games from that era I had to give it a good home.
