Default Any controller cords that are shorter than a Turbo Pad?

One thing I absolutely hate about the TurboGrafx-16, is the length of the Turbo Pad's cord.

I mean that thing is so short it's ridiculous! When I have my systems hooked up to my Big Screen TV in my living room, I like to have the video game system housed in my Home Theater cabinet. This is quite far from the seat on the couch.

With most systems, all I need is an extension for the controller and it's fine. With the Turbo, I need to first have a Turbo Tap, and then have an extension hooked to the Turbo Tap, and then have the Pad plug into the Turbo Tap for it to be long enough, and it still isn't really long enough. I need like 1 more foot. I need one more extension cable. I can't believe that I need two freaking extension cables and one Turbo Tap to be able to play comfortably in my living room.

Or the Colecovision for that matter But for the Colecovision, a good tip would be to get the Sega Genesis extension cables. They'll work fine with it. As for the TG16, you MUST get the extension cables, unless you want the radiation damage your parents warned you about from being so close to the tv set!

One of my Japanese buddies had a 2ft long PSX controller cord. We always fought over who got stuck sitting next to the TV.

My Capcom Pad Soldier for the SFC/SNES is pretty damned short. I'm not going to get out the tape measure or anything, but I'm guessing around 3 feet. I also have the exact controller for the 3DO (except black and no Pad Soldier mentioned) and the cord must be well over 4 or 5 feet. Odd.

Oh god, the neo geo cord is puny. 3 feet, I swear.

Other contenders definitely have to include the cords to the old atari system controllers (5200 and 7800 come to mind for sure), and the intellivision with the hardwired controllers (phone cord? why?).

The thing was, back in the early days of video gaming, the video game system would be a couple of feet in front of the TV, spread out in the middle of the living room, with the kids a couple of feet back from that, sitting on the carpet with the controllers in their hands.

Of course, things have changed with the advent of home theaters and gamers getting older. As we get older, we are no longer interested in sitting on the carpet, and we have little entertainment centers, that our girlfriends or wives would like us to hide our game systems in. So they are out of the way and not in the middle of the living room.

I always remember my mom getting on my case about putting the Atari away so that somebody doesn't trip over it and break their neck.
