Default New PS2 games without holographic sticker seal?

Im new to the shin megami tensei series, and really liked SMTIV on my 3DS and decided to get the ps2 games. I found a sweet deal on amazon for SMT nocturne, Digital devil 1 and 2 for 49.99 all brand new. I received the games today from AZOMAX.COM, and everything is brand new but they dont have any sticker seal brand new games usually have... ??? Could the games be new and resealed without the sticker?

All the later released PS2 games and the more recent reprints of older ones (like the SMT games) don't have the sticker seal.

Sony stopped using the holographic sticker seal in October 2005 for PS2 games. Shadow of the Colossus was the earliest Sony first party game to ship without it. For your purposes, it means you have reprints of the games which is only an issue if you are looking to resell sealed games for a profit. Otherwise, the games are identical to the original release versions.

Don't be shocked if there's no memory card holder in the cases. They got rid of those too at some point.

Yeah, only the first few years of releases [as a general rule] had cases with a little space for the mem card.

    Funny the stuff you notice!

The timing of the band seal being removes seems right, I haven't seen any PS1 games without ones except for the 11th hour reprints of some RPGs. The Cases have 3 variants. The launch PS2 games had a centered case and no memory card holder, all copies of Orphen: Scion of Sorcery, and Summoner, use this case style, I have to assume that the other launch titles were the same. Within weeks they switched to the common case design, I haven't seen any 2001 or later games with this style. The last one had the card holder changed to a simple PlayStation logo, this was done after 2010, I haven't seen any copies of Sakura Wars with a type 3 case, but all reprints of Tales of the Abyss have a type 3 case.

It was done by 2007, probably at some point between the NA releases of Rogue Galaxy in January and Fire Prowrestling Returns in November. Those are the last two games I bought sealed (right when they first came out) and RG has the holder while FPR just has the logo.

First game to ship w/o the hologram sticker that I saw (and I was still buying plenty of PS2 at that point) was Metal Slug 4/5 and was the first one I saw w/o the sticker on shelves at all.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

That makes sense. That was released in May 2005.

So is there a definitive list of games which had the holo stickers on them? Or just "anything within X date range" will have a sticker?

Nope. It would be everything released before May 2005.
