Flea market..

Vendor had a nice small table of unique video game items, quality stuff..but nothing priced to where it was a bargain or that I needed to pay that high to acquire..
plus no room to resell..
I don’t think $65.00 for a used PS2 slim is a good price...
NES deck $50.00

Stopped at another vendor:
They had so much stuff,comics...on display real nice set up..
PC games were $3.00 each but I bought the whole box for $10.00
Then each thing was $5.00..My total was $30.00 with a free item or two..

Looking at some of these sets, they have some cool items in them...Coins..

But I don’t know anything about used PC software, can I resell it..

Garage sale hunting...bought another RED kid push car for $3.00 but in better condition.

My next pick up was not flea market related..
A friend went garage sale hunting Saturday....picking up this and that..one place he asks..do you have any video games, the lady says yes but was very reluctant to show them..
She agrees to show my friend and into the basement they go..
Bin filled with game stuff and the Game and Watch
He offers her $50.00 for the bin and she takes it fast with a smile..

I purchased what I wanted from the bin today to resell..

The PSP is mine though..

I'm not a PC guru but what I've learned is that some can be resold and some can't. Most Valve and EA stuff(especially the last 5+ years) can't be resold since they have a one time activation code. Theres quite a bit of older software that can be resold but there are others who are much more qualified to answer that than myself.

My general take on PC software is if it's older than like 99 or so or it doesn't have an online component, pick it up if it's cheap. If it's more recent than than that, only grab it if it's new and sealed. I found that Everquest II tin at a thrift a year ago maybe and sold it for a solid $40, but it was still new and sealed.

You can get burned though, I bought a new copy of Lineage II to try and flip, only to discover the game is now free to play. Thankfully I was only out like $5.

The guy was kinda crotchety and his prices were honestly a bit on the high side, but he did have some nice stuff. Most of his items were priced in the upper eBay range, but honestly considering how impossible it is to find anything in Dallas anymore, I really didn't care. I picked up a few boxed, complete Genesis games averaging around $8 each and passed on a few others that I kinda wished I would have grabbed... I'm at work now, but will edit this with a pic later today.

POint of the story - Mind Games is a nice place to look around but for locals it's probably a bit pricey.
Here are the games that I promised:

All complete and in pretty nice shape:
Clayfighter
Tinhead
Lemmings 2: Tribes
Bubba N Stix
Shadow Blasters
Aero the Acrobat

And here are my finds from Half Price Books this weekend:

Short Track Racing Trading Paint (PS2) - complete $1
Splinter Cell (PS2) - complete $1
Strike Force Bowling (PS2) - complete $1
Hot Shots Tennis (PS2) - complete $1
AMF Xtreme Bowling (PS2) - complete $1
Fritz Chess (PS3) - $14 after coupon - complete and MINT!

First version of Fritz Chess I've EVER seen in person, for any system, new or used.

Well, Star Wars Galaxies is a dead MMO. It got killed several years ago, but the collectible items may still be worth a few bucks. Just make sure you mention that the game component cannot be used anymore. Neverwinter Nights 2 LE is worth about 20 bucks if it's got -everything- inside it. Black & White 2, Empire at War and Cold Fear are resellable. The Command & Conquer 3 stuff, maybe not. Everquest II and Star Trek... most likely not since they have one-time use codes.

Like others said, many PC games these days have a one-time activation code. I still buy them for myself, if they work then cool and if not then I only lose a few bucks.

Just to add a few things, that Star Wars Galaxies is still worth around $30 as it's the collector's edition. Also, that Star Trek Online is still worth around $10 as that's also the collector's edition, it doesn't matter that it's used as the game has been turned into a free-to-play game last year. It's no longer sold at retail anymore, it's free to download. From what I've read, Everquest II has been turned into a free-to-play game as well, you can just download it. You could probably still sell the used discs as someone would collect them. The Command and Conquer 3 should be fine, from what I've found it doesn't use DRM so it can be reinstalled as many times as you'd like, you only need to register the game for online play.

That said, while most of these things are still sellable, that doesn't mean everything is worth much money. Most of these items would be worth less than $5 each, more in the $1-$3 range if you can find a buyer. Cold Fear seems to be a neat game though like Resident Evil, you might want to try it out.

I sell alot of PC games, and like most have said, I usually don't deal with it unless it's New and Sealed or old and has no internet-tied activation. Some of my favorites to do are the old Blizzard RTS games, (selling boxed Diablo I and Diablo II right before Diablo III was released got insane!!) any old LucasArts stuff, since they're now defunct, especially the adventures games, like Full Throttle, The Dig, ect.

What seems to make the difference in the games is the content (Star Wars theme games seem to never lose) and condition (Complete in original box), and some very greatly on class (Giant Big Box, Player's Guide, ect).

Picked up the Buffy dvds at Savers for $4 each. They also had Angel but I picked up the complete set earlier this year at a flea market for alittle less than $10. Mario Party(DS), Donkey Kong Land(GB) and Mario Party 7(GC) were from three different Goodwill's. I thought this was the Donley Kong game that was missing from my GBA SP bundle but it turns out that one is Donkey Kong Country. The two 360 games were from Best Buy with a certificate. I grabbed Midway Arcade Origins just so I can play Spy Hunter because the original Xbox's Spy Hunter isn't backwards compatible and I also get to compete on the leaderboards. I already had the collector's edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum but since it was still sealed I decided to sell it since I've been downsizing a significant amount of my collection lately.

Escape from Monkey Island and Full Throttle were $.50 each from a hole in the wall thrift. Ultima II floppy was $1 at a different thrift.

$5 from another random thrift. There's a dent in the front bubble and a little creasing in the bottom left corner, but is like new otherwise.

I wish I would have know another DPer was so near by. I hit Mind Games once in a while and there prices are on the high end but they are nice people. I generally pop in when out I am having bad luck game hunting just to at least see a game and not go home empty handed. We also have a few other small shops that sell games but nothing great. Next time your around try Guild of Blades. Mostly a RPG gaming shop but also have a video game section. There used RPG book prices are great video games not so much but you do find good prices in there.

Very nice! I've been wanting to get back into collecting these but never see them anymore. Years ago I had a pretty big supply of LCD handhelds that I had picked up for $0.25 - $1.00 over the years. The Halloween before I moved back to Silicon Valley permanently, I put fresh batteries in each one and ended up giving them out to kids for trick-or-treat.

What a way to end the month:

Robotech Perfect Soundtrack Album - $1. Two CDs full of 1986 cheese. Sells for $50 on Amazon.

The CDs are pretty scratched but they played (and copied) fine for the most part... they still need a good cleaning before I can rip them completely. This is probably the rarest mass-produced CD set I own.
