    Default TMNT Arcade

So a friend if mine bought this from a guy taking it to the dump. He gave him 50 bucks and had it in his barn for over 7 years. I remembered he had it and asked how much he wanted for it. 75 bucks. 75 BUCKS!!! Needless to say it is now in my house getting repairs and some tlc. I dont know what its worth but so far I have fixed the 3 coin mechs that had the coin reject buttons. And I fixed all the joystick and button contacts. I just ordered the joystick decal on ebay for 50 bucks since the one on it is trashed. Also the whole joy/button box is destroyed. Swollen from moisture. Once I get the new decal I will use it as a stencil for cutting a new box, then transfer the hardware. The side decals are sun faded but there so im just going to concentrate on the control box for now. This is by far the coolest peice of gaming I ever bought.

That is my favorite arcade of all time. It makes me happy to know that you're gonna put some love into it.

I recommend joining over at KLOV (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/index.php) if you haven't already. They can give you all kinds of help with restoration as well as suppliers that can set you up with reproduction artwork and parts.

$75 is a steal for a cab that still looks like it is in pretty good shape. A new panel overlay, check the controls out and for any rust... and that might be it.

Thanks everyone. I was so excited about it that this is what made me get a photobucket. I had to share it.
The control overlay is on its way. Next the manual. I still need to figure out how to tweak the screen. Ill keep it posted as I progress.

That is pretty cool! I love finding treasures like this on the cheap and then enjoying them, restoring them, and sharing them! I have never taken on a project of this size though! How much do those cabs weigh? I remember this being a really fun arcade game to play as a kid! Awesome find, man!

The exact weight, I dont know. Its a couple hundred pounds. Me and my brother moved it. We worked in a family furniture store growing up so it wasnt the worste thing for us. But I will say we used the 4 wheel floor dolley and a furniture robe to slide it. Carrying is not recomended. We carried it about 20 feet without tools of the trade. That was tasking to say the least.

    Default AWESOME!! I love it...

    AWESOME!! I love it...
So glad to hear your saving this machine

Seeing this machine brings back memories:
..Years ago I was invited to a small back yard get together with friends ,we walk through the house and come out to a dark back yard..as soon as I step out I see the silhouette of a big Arcade machine to my right under a short porch canopy..
I was in AWE!!....it looked like that machine...

I ask about the machine and was told that it was the kids Dads,it does not work, had worked but has been left out in this back yard for years ..
The machine had seen better days, the weather really took a beaten on it..kids broke into the coin doors.

I asked the kid,why leave it out here when there is plenty of room to keep it in the empty adjacent room just before you reach it....The kid shrugged, explains that his Dads a drunk and doesn’t care about it ....Hearing that and being into Arcade machines really bothered me,I take care of my things..

.His dad used to play it outside during drinking parties with friends ..

I told the kid,if your dad doesn’t care about it nor want it I’ll haul it out of here ..I kept on it for awhile but his dad never responded.

Years later I found out it’s still sitting back there..
It’s one of those memories I’ll never forget ..
