    Default new snes proto found

    targa 1995 rainbow arts/softgold/manfred trenz
never released pal version of rendering ranger r2.
the funny thing about this game is that you actually
    play manfred trenz himself.
great stuff for a turrican and manfred trenz fan like myself ;-)
heres a page with some pics: http://www.geocities.com/tbaumwald/
    cheers

I know it's the SNES and the pictures are blurry, but wow, those graphics are amazing. I take it the main character was altered from the final official release or whatever?

Isn't Rendering Rangers R2 one of the rarest Japanese games? I heard only 5000 copies were made.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

rendering ranger isnt that rare actually, for a retail game maybe.
there are quite a number of snes games that had an equally
limited release, ecspecially games with special chips released in and after 1996.
virgin just went like "limited edition, rarest sfc game ever" to push their sales.
i dont think an us release was planned.
    only pal and jap.
pal because the game was developed in germany, but that was canned and only this proto survived obviously.i dont know how much carts of this targa proto exist. however,it looks like it was done and ready for review, but i never read anything about it in the major german video game mags.

Just out of interest, and not to dig up an old thread, but who has this RR Pal Proto?

The prototype in that link is actually a fake. The only pal version of Targa is owned by Manfred Trenz himself. Pictures of the real deal can be found on my site.

Very impressive graphics, it's always nice to see unknown games pop up and draw interest.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?
