Default Need some help with my Retrogen

Okay so I just bought a retrogen to play my genesis games on the snes and I can't seem to get it to work. I've checked that i'm using the right region switch, I just can't get anything to come up on the screen. Now my TV doesn't actually have the red, yellow and white av ports individually, only a scart socket, but I play my snes through that. I was just wondering if that's the problem.....

    Thanks.

    Couple things.

Are you using the composite to 3.5mm stereo headphone cord the RetroGen came with? The SNES does not provide video passthrough from the RetroGen, so if you're trying to use the video cable that comes out the back of the SNES, then that will give you absolutely nothing.

Second, the RetroGen's cable supports composite video, not RGB.

If you're using SCART and don't have another option, make sure you're using a Composite to SCART video adapter passthrough.

    Like this.

Yeah that's what I am using. the av cable that comes from retrogen, into that adapter and then into the scart socket... but still i get nothing. Is there any other reason you can think of that may be the problem?

Can you tv accept NTSC composite inputs from other devices? Rule out other possible causes before you declare there to be a problem with the RetroGen. Such devices aren't made with PAL tvs in mind.

The RetroGen produces NTSC composite video. You'll need to find a tv that either works with NTSC, or at the very least PAL 60. PAL 50Hz displays will not work with it.

And again, you need to plug the composite cable into the side of the RetroGen itself, NOT the SNES.
