So I nabbed a Gamecube on the cheap at Goodwill this evening, but it's looking like the two plastic prongs are broken off on the sensor that detects whether or not the lid is open.
At first glance it seems to be a tremendously simple repair, with the sensor held in place by a single screw and connected by a one wire. Has anybody else done this repair before? Are there any variants between Gamecube models that I have to be on the lookout for?
There also doesn't appear to be any on eBay at the moment, nor are any in stock at the other part suppliers that I frequent. Cheapest one I can find is at NESRepairShop for a tad more than $14 with shipping. Is anybody aware of a more affordable alternative? $14 is nearly three times what I payed for the system itself.
