    Default NSMB U and NSLB U Questions/clarification

I just want to make sure I understand what I'm getting into with the New Super ***** Bros. Games. Do I have this right? ... For physical releases there are each game on its own, or a compilation. Are both games on disc for the compilation? Are there any reasons to avoid any version of it? Any version that is more desirable (more levels, better packaging, anything really).

I've been sitting on a NSMB eshop code from the MK8 promo, but decided to sell it in favor of a physical copy. (Yes, I know my code expires the end of this month.) I'm leaning towards the compilation disc.

    Thanks for the help!

You're correct, they're two separate games.

The compilation disc is both games on one disc with a selection screen to select which game you want to play, just like you would get if you bought NSLU as a download for NSMBU. For the separate discs like you can buy new at retail (The compilation is a pack-in and can't be bought new separately), they're each fully standalone.

The only difference is convenience, but I never felt the urge to flip back and forth between the two. So I'd suggest to go with whatever is cheapest.

    Both can be downloaded
    Both can be bought
Both can be found on one disc.

The third only is a pack-in with the WiiU in a bundle, that one would in theory be the most desirable as it's like the WiiU version of the old SNES Allstars pack in a way, you get all the system specific mario in one package and you can't buy it at retail so there will be less copies by far.

Thanks for the replies. The checking I've done looks like the compilation is the better value, so I'll try to go that route. Else see if any deals come along around black friday.

Yet, I have a feeling it'll be released as such pretty soon. I figure Luigi U will be the uncommon release.

The combo disc doesn't come with a manual.

I heard both the separate games come with physical manuals?

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

I'm not sure Luigi had a real manual, Mario did though. I had it at one point but the game just sucks so much I sold it. I find zero fun in having a 100 clock that rolls by super fast making it just a speed run game as I don't enjoy that stuff at all.

Does the standalone New Super Mario Bros. U have the Mii challenges? Or is that a combo disc exclusive?
