Default Last day for Blockbuster's Gamers Pass is August 31st.

Just a reminder. The last day for Blockbusters Gamers Freedom Pass is the last day in August.

It's $19.99 and you can rent one game at a time, and exchange it as many times as you want. I think this pass is a good deal, because you could concievable try out like 3 different games in one single day if you wanted to. Rent a game when they first open at 10am, play it for 3 hours and see if you like it. Take it back at 2pm and rent a different one. Play it till 9pm at night and take it back and get another one. Play it until the next day at 10am. Repeat process 30 times.

Ok, I wouldn't do that, but you get the idea. I'm going to start one on August 31st, that will run till September 29th or 30th or whatever. I will easily check out 30 different games. Game Boy Advance games, XBOX games, GameCube games, PS2 games, you name it. I will check them out, and see if any shock me by how good they are, or to see which ones to avoid like the plague.

Just a heads up, because it's a good way to try alot of different games just to get a quick taste of whether you like them or not.

The only thing that sucks, is that last year, you could have 2 games out at a time, and this year, you can only have one game.

A few of the fellows I work with have gotten a pass in the past. A couple of them spent all their time renting XBOX games, ripping them to the hard drive, and then retrugning them.

    Hmm, I haven't rented anything since 96.

I'm on my way there right now.... To ROT and DIE! Don't forget, anyone who signs up gets a free $5 gift card (to be used after the purchase). Now, on to the HORROR!

My mind reels at the prospect of having the time to do what Anthony1 is proposing.

    Default A little more explanation......

Just for those who wanted a little more info...you need a Visa or Mastercharge to activate the Pass, and you need to notify them monthly whether or not you want them to continue charging your cart $19.99. Seems like an OK deal. The Keeper

Huh? You can rip Xbox games to the hard drive and play them latter without needing the actual disc?!? Need to do any mods to the console to do this? If not, I am SO buying an xbox this week....

I think it needs a mod chip. I don't know much about XBOXes at all, so I'm not the one to give advice.

If any one of you come into my store three times a day (like Anthony suggests), I will not help you. I will walk away, grab a copy of Invincible Armour, go into the back office and sit and watch my movie in peace.

yup, its true about the xbox, it can run a its own OS (EvoX and Linux) they also found a way to run linux on a unmooded xbox. But with EvoX you can play divx files(and almost all other video audio files) you can ftp files back and fourth with a pc, rip games to hard drive, run Xbox live with chip installed and many new applications are being worked like web broweser(which is 90% done), msn instant messegener and so on.

One game at a time? Last year it was two.

Go scratch, Blockbuster. I'd rather dip into my back catalog.

I would never, ever think of renting a ps2 game a day and burning a DVD-R.. That would be just wrong..
