Among the Oretachi games, I was most psyched for Burger Time, but ultimately that was a rude reminder of how slow the original arcade game played.
Time Pilot is the definitive version for home consoles. I love playing that with the proper screen orientation. Oddly, as with many of these releases, it is possible to scale the graphics so only a small portion of the playfield is visible, that can make for some interesting rounds of Time Pilot.
A couple of the later releases like Thunder Cross, Rabbit Punch, and Trio The Punch have some programming issues. Thunder Cross specifically has sfx and bgm issues, and Trio The Punch has locked-up on me the handfull of times I tried to play through it.
Along with Haunted Castle, I think the Oretachi release of Contra is the only near arcade perfect home version. Playing that with a properly vertical orientated monitor is a real treat.
