FS/FT: Sly Cooper canes! $55
Back Story:
My son wants to be Sly Cooper this year for Halloween. After thinking about it for awhile, I decided it was do-able, so I made him a cane. It was a ton of work, but I'm very happy how it turned out. (see picture at very bottom of this post)
Cane:
Each cane is approx. 40 inches long including blade.
The cane is made from Poplar. It was lathed at the bottom to get the tappered end. The "blade" is made with very high quality Baltic Birch. This is not the crap you get at Lowes/Home Depot. The entire cane has two coats of Shellac to seal it and give it a nice high gloss varnish. The gold paint is Kylon double coat paint and was shot twice.
I did get some machine marks from the lath, but it just adds character to the wood handle.
Some have very very small nicks on the blade from combat (cutting actually), nothing major.
I was thinking $55 plus shipping. The amount of time I have into each cane is unreal.
Note:
Guys are selling them for almost 3X that on ebay, which I now understand why. I hate listing on ebay and would prefer to avoid it.
