I'm in on that. Just a week ago I think this site flashed that link in some thread on here to that port to windows by a random person of Wonderboy 3 (TG16 version called Dragon's Trap) to windows and installed it.
The company has some games under their belt mostly for ios/android but also ps vita. Hopefully this isn't some touch game nightmare or stuck on that vita and it hits PC-Windows as I'd love to try it.
TurboGrafx-16 version was called Dragon's Curse.
In Japan on the PC-Engine I think it was just called Adventure Island
That's right, said it wrong as the game I have here says Dragon's Curse: Dragon's Trap.
Funny how Adventure Island takes a full circle.
Pocketgamer.co.uk is reporting that the series designer is working with the developer and publisher on this so it's a true sequel.
It is also slated for PC and PS4, likely Vita with crossbuy too since the developer already does Vita games.
The same game on Master System is subtitled Dragon's Trap. The whole Westone Wonder Boy/Adventure Island/Monster World naming is bizarre to figure out no matter how you slice it.
As is the fact my fear was removed, wrecked by being a tactile free touch panel nightmare. PC release means real game pad control.
Very cool to hear.

not digging the childish subtitle for the game, doesn't sit too well with the rest of the series, but if it plays anything like the rest of the series I can just ignore the goofy tittle.
I found out about it while watching The Happy Console Gamer earlier today and it looks awesome. I'll be all over this.
They're overwhelmed with the positive response to Monster Boy so they're considering a Wii U port.
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/201...oming_to_wii_uThe game is confirmed for the PlayStation 4, PC and "more" formats. We contacted FDG's Thomas Kern for clarification, and he confirmed that the team would love to bring Monster Boy to Nintendo fans, but it's still very early days:
It's a pretty exciting day as we didn't expect such an overwhelming positive response from the Internet. After all, there hasn't been any news about the series for years.
We love the Wii U but for the moment I can't confirm anything. It's definitely considered as we believe Nintendo fans would appreciate the game.
I'd think a 3DS port would be far more rational. WiiU doesn't have much of a base compared to the 3DS.
Now that sega is focusing on digital games like these, wonder why they wouldnt pick this up and name it monster world 5 or wonder boy in america.
Because the last time Sega actually had some proper thinking and consistently did something right was the Genesis up until the pushed out the 32X and the SegaCD. They've been one long train wreck of cumulative bad ideas ever since, and even when they did something fairly right with the Dreamcast, they still were digging the nails out of the box to help seal their coffin down the road.
Two other screenshots I forgot to post here.

Monster Boy needs more time and we agreed to give it the polishing it deserves. This means the release has to move to 2016.http://www.monsterboy.com/blog/We target Q1 2016 now and the team is working hard on creating the game we all want to play so badly. It will be great!
We also changed the subtitle. After much criticism on our previous choice 'Wizard of Booze'. The games subtitle is now 'Cursed Kingdom'. It fits nicely and we hope this is something more convenient for everybody
How could you leave the most recent posted animated GIF out?!?

So stoked for this...just sayin'
Cool. I've just been following this thread for the info and wow left the pig out. That looks very nice. I hope to take a shot at this once it arrives.
Hey I never linked this, not sure why, but there was a full remake of Dragon's Trap (Wonderboy 3) done for Windows 32 and 64 bit.
IT was hosted at retroremakes.com which is dead, but a guy over at the SMS Power forums stored both the 32bit installer/version, and the 64bit upgrade files himself and linked it, it's the 4th post from the bottom.

Very fun, very worth your time while waiting on this.
