Default NES Satellite and Guantlet II

I hadn't ever really been able to get people over to play a 4 player NES game but I finally got the chance to last night...
well after getting the nes hooked up and got 4 controllers plugged into the satellite only players 1 and 2 would do any thing.

isn't gauntlet II compatible with the satellite or is there something wrong with the satellite?

Mine handles it fine. I don't know if there were any revisions to the hardware or software that might be an issue. If I were to hazard a guess I'd say the issue is a bad connection in the second controller port with the infrared sensor or weak batteries. Mine acts a little goofy when the batteries get low, so I started using a wired four score instead.

Player 3 data is sent on port 1, and player 4 on port 2, so that's probably not the issue.

Maybe it doesn't like your part, because Gauntlet II is most definitely a 4 player game. I think even the GB one was too with that multiplayer link that came with F1Race. I still believe it to be the most amazing arcade conversion on the NES since it has all the random levels and they recorded the vocals and sfx of the arcade onto there too as it really sets the mood (even the GB game has that too.)

Just to be sure... isn't there a switch on the adapter to enable 4P mode?
(though taking another look on Google images, that might just be the Four Score that had a 2P/4P mode select)
