I'm a big fan of gun games, don't know much about the PSX, and a video store near my house has this game for 9.99. Is it worth picking up? What gun does it use?

I think it was made for the GunCon but I am pretty sure it will work with any gun.

It is a VERY fun game.It is like a arcadeshooter,with some RPG stuff thrown in.I say go for it.

GREAT game. GunCon works just fine. And for $9.99 new it's a STEAL, the last one I sold went for $22.

Oh, it's not new, it's a former rental... but still, this place tends to have less beaten up rentals than others.

Good luck finding one. Only 50 were ever made. This one used to be mine until I traded it to some guy in Japan for a new Virtual Lab cart for Virtual Boy. I'd still like to replace it someday though....

I bought it from someone who won it at the E3 in '98 when the game was first debuted. They had an EG high-score contest and gave a couple of these away as prizes. I think EGM and Gamepro had 1 each to give away also. Don't know how the rest were given away though.

I was happy with the trade. Considering what I paid for the case, and what I COULD have paid on ebay for a new Virtual Lab, I thought it was a good deal. The case was cool to own at first, but after a while I got sick of looking at it and shoved it in a box in my closet. The Virtual Lab on the other hand is prominently displayed on a shelf in my living room with the rest of my VB collection.

EG is one of the most unique gun games you'll ever play. It's hard as nails (is this yet another case of WD "tweaking" the difficulty as an alleged improvement or was the JPN release this hard too?) and the GFX have that "Doom" flavor to them, but it's still a winner and one of my top 10 PSX games easily.

Well worth the $9 even if it is an ex-rental. It's not that easy to touch for less than $25 complete.

And wow, that case is bad-ass.

I asked zmeston about that case. He pretty much confirmed that I wouldn't be able to get one without a lot of luck, and $$.

I let one slip through my fingers on Ebay a few years back, and have been kicking myself ever since.

And EG is a superb game.

Yes. GunCon is highly recommended. It's the most accurate gun for the PSX.
